Have you ever made a decision in life that you ended up regretting because you were motivated by fear? ๐Ÿ˜จ swipe left โฌ…๏ธ

๐Ÿ˜จ Breathwork and cold plunges can help us make better decisions in life by improving our physical and mental health, reducing stress and anxiety, and increasing our ability to focus and stay present.

๐Ÿ˜จ Breathwork techniques, such as deep diaphragmatic breathing or alternate nostril breathing, can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps us to relax and reduce stress. This can improve our ability to think clearly and make better decisions, as well as increase our resilience to stress.

๐Ÿ˜จ Cold plunges, or exposure to cold water, have been shown to have many benefits for the body and mind, including reducing inflammation, boosting the immune system, and improving mood. Cold water immersion can also help to train the mind to stay calm and focused in stressful situations, which can translate into better decision-making.

๐Ÿ˜„ By incorporating breathwork and cold plunges into our daily routine, we can improve our physical and mental well-being, reduce stress and anxiety, and increase our ability to make better decisions in life.

Stress & Anxiety
Shallow breathing can lead to anxiety, and a higher tolerance for CO2 can help maintain a consistent breathing pattern & reduce anxiety. Studies show that people with a greater CO2 tolerance experience lower anxiety levels. Increasing your CO2 tolerance may help you stay calm & combat anxiety

Energy & Stamina
Increasing CO2 tolerance offers many advantages, such as boosting physical & mental energy multiplying mitochondria in cells, which is helpful for active people. It also helps maintain a slower heart rate during exercise, enabling a longer duration of increased activity without feeling winded

Inflammation
A higher CO2 tolerance can also aid in reducing inflammation throughout the body. With a greater ability to retain CO2, it can travel long distances in the body, by alleviating inflammation

BOX BREATHING
4-4-4-4 breathing is a method that involves equal periods of inhaling, pausing, exhaling, & pausing again. This technique is simple and offers several advantages, including stress reduction. It also benefits people seeking to enhance their CO2 tolerance since it involves breath retention.
* Find a comfortable position
* Inhale through your nostrils for 4 sec
* Hold for 4 sec
* Exhale through your mouth for 4 sec
* Hold another 4 sec
* Repeat as desired

Diaphragmatic Breathing
A fundamental & straightforward form of breathwork. It entails inhaling deeply through the nose while expanding the belly, followed by a slow exhalation by mouth. Engaging the stomach muscles promotes proper breathing habits.
* Find a comfortable position
* Place one hand on your stomach and the other on your chest
* Inhale through your nose, and feel your stomach rise
* Exhale through your nose, letting your stomach lower as the air exits. Ensure your chest remains steady
* Repeat as many times as you like

Heart Coherence Breathing
This technique promotes a state of coherence or synchronization between the heart and brain by regulating breathing patterns.
* Inhale into your belly for 5 sec
* Exhale for another 5
* Repeat 3 to 5 min

These are only 3 ways, there are many more!

Debunking Myths About Connecting to Your Character ๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ”

Some actors may face difficulties in building the characters they are assigned to play. Challenges may arise when the character is vastly different from their own personality or experiences, requires an understanding of a different cultural background, or involves complex emotions or motivations. Tight production schedules and external pressures may also limit their ability to fully immerse into the character. However, actors often use techniques such as research, observation, improvisation, and collaboration with directors and fellow actors to overcome these challenges and create compelling performances. Despite the difficulties, actors who successfully portray characters that are different from themselves demonstrate resilience and talent in their craft. Overall, building a character requires creativity, empathy, research, and practice. ๐ŸŽญ๐ŸŽจ

The amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in our bodies regulates our breathing. When carbon dioxide levels reach a certain level, a signal is sent from your brain stem's breathing center to your muscles, causing an inhalation. We exhale carbon dioxide, and a new breathing cycle begins.

When we take a breath of fresh air into our lungs, oxygen travels from the lungs to the blood, where it is picked up and carried by a molecule called hemoglobin through the blood vessels. This oxygen-rich blood is pumped throughout the body by the heart, offloading it to cells for energy conversion. However, to release oxygen from the blood, hemoglobin needs a catalyst, which includes an increase in body temperature as well as the presence of carbon dioxide.

The physiologist and Nobel laureate Christian Bohr discovered the necessary presence of carbon dioxide in 1904 when he recognized that CO2 affects the release of oxygen from the blood to tissues and organs. The Bohr Effect states that when there is enough carbon dioxide pressure in the blood and lungs, pH drops, and oxygen is released more readily. When CO2 levels are low, hemoglobin molecules are less able to release oxygen from the blood. The amount of carbon dioxide in our blood, and thus how well our bodies are oxygenated, is determined by how we breathe.

Carbon dioxide also relaxes the smooth muscle in the airways, arteries, and capillaries, allowing for smooth breathing and healthy blood flow. Over-breathing causes CO2 loss, which causes airway constriction in those genetically predisposed to asthma. By breathing calmly and quietly, you will maintain healthy carbon dioxide levels in your blood vessels and airways.

Carbon dioxide provides the carbon that is the building block of all life.
