Through this journey, I aspire and try my best to be a nostalgic abstract composer of cool jazz on paper!”

Young artists learn songs, choreography, and script for a final performance of both musicals at The Colony Theatre, November 1st & 2nd. Class/rehearsals meet weekly at Daurden Performing Arts Conservatory as students study with Award-Nominated Director/Choreographer Cassandra Daurden and Vocal Director Jessica Kelley.
Daurden’s work has been nominated and recognized by LA Weekly, LA Drama Critic Circle, The Hollywood Fringe Festival, and the Huffington Post.

About the show:
The astonishing true-story of a Civil War soldier whose life defied definition. Transformed into a powerful new musical, more timely than ever. In August of 1862, Private Albert Cashier enlisted in the Union Army and fought valiantly during the Civil War, until being honorably discharged on August 17, 1865, at which point he received a military pension in recognition of his service. But there was more to Albert than most people knew ... he had a secret .... this heroic American soldier was born Jennifer Hodgers.

Along with a state-of-the-art performance space, the facility also includes a large rehearsal room/studio with the same dimensions as the stage, a gallery, an elegant but comfortable lobby, green room, dressing rooms, a kitchen and production office. There are many restaurants within walking distance and plenty of safe, free parking.
The Colony Theatre is the perfect location to host your performance, concert, recital, dance event, film shoot, showcase, screening, meeting, art show, party, or private event. The management team can also offer other services such as full box office support, marketing and producing consultation, and event planning.
