We're so thankful that earlier this month, WBD Community Engagement and Strategic Initiatives Manager Maggie McEldowney welcomed Woodbury Professor & Chair of Filmmaking George Larkin as well as 12 of our students for a studio tour of Warner Bros.

This month, WSOA and MCD hosted an extremely successful Wedge Gallery viewing featuring the works of 28 Woodbury University students who spent their winter exploring and investigating the eternal city during the four-week long Winter in Rome course.
Led by Professors Cody Miner, Paulette Singley, and Parsa Rezaee from the School of Architecture, along with Wayne Kastning from the Media, Culture, and Design program, students walked, analyzed, and sketched the city firsthand as they visited ruins, monuments, and exhibitions. Through this course, students uncovered architecture from ancient, imperial, baroque, and renaissance periods, experiencing a historical crash course of canonical spaces. Throughout their travels they took time to reflect, collect and document in their sketchbooks.
After arriving back to campus, the architecture students rendered their sketches in the computer and paired up to take those forms and translate them into 3D interlocking models.
Our MCD fashion design students were tasked to create collections based on the different buildings they encountered, bringing in elements and ambiance into their work.
Our Study Away program is an exceptional opportunity for students to gain transformative global learning experiences. ✈️🌍🧳
