In addition, the business community has discovered the economic clout of the Hispanic and Latino population.

Immigrants are remaking America. In many urban and rural areas, the arrival of immigrants from Spain and Latin America has transformed whole communities. Much like new Americans of yesteryear, our modern-day crop of immigrants have contributed greatly to our nation’s economy, culture and overall well-being. Ongoing immigration has significantly affected the Hispanic and Latino experience in the United States and the continued flow of Hispanic and Latino immigrants ensure that the Spanish language and diverse Hispanic and Latino cultures will endure in the United States. The combination of established and new Hispanic and Latinos in the United States further enhances the diversity that exists across and within Hispanic and Latino groups and as more Hispanic and Latino people continue to migrate to the U.S. and become a larger and more diverse segment of our population, it is important to understand the internal diversity, experiences and needs of these communities.
