Shabbat services - Friday - 7:00pm
Holidays, life cycle events, religious school We try to be a place where all Jews feel welcome and comfortable.

We learn from each other and grow together. We accept people wherever they are in their Jewish experience, and offer the opportunity to grow in the direction they choose. Together, we form a diverse family, bound

Here is the wording of the petition, the PDF link to which can be found in the pinned post:

I, the undersigned, having lived/worked in Burbank, believe that given the complex Middle East situation, any statement referring to the Hamas-Israel war would be premature and not in the best interest of the city. I have an additional concern for the safety and security of our local synagogues and the Jewish community. Therefore, I wish to make an appeal to the Burbank City Council to dismiss the proposed cease-fire resolution.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

I was admittedly not a huge fan of Rugrats, but I do like that they were a Jewish family and how they made Passover accessible and digestible (slight pun intended) to young children.

Temple Beth Emet is looking for donations for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Please bring new, unwrapped toys (no stuffed animals, please) games, coloring books and other items to donate. As a reminder, pediatrics continues all the way up to age 18. Please consider bringing teen-friendly items such as unopened makeup, skin care, hair care and nail care items.

While many toy drives are seasonal, this is a year-round appeal.

From our current Temple President, Ira Goldstein:

It is with great sadness that I must tell you of the passing of long-time member and former Board member and Sisterhood President Fran Bernstein. Fran was always a joyful, loving, active, and dedicated part of our community.

Services will be held on this Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, California. The family invites everyone to share in the meal of condolence to be held at the Temple after the service.

May her memory be a blessing.

Behind an Exodus: The Tycoons Who Helped Jews Leave Eastern Europe From 1890 to 1921, 2.5 million Jews, fleeing discrimination and violence in their Eastern European homelands, arrived in the United States. Many sailed on steamships from Hamburg, Germany. Historian Steven Ujifusa tells how this mass exodus was facilitated by three businessmen whose involvement has....
