This semester, 33 international students dove into their Kennedy Catholic journey with a powerful start—volunteering at Food Lifeline.

For many, it was their first time giving back, and they packed 1,740 lbs. of pasta and 1,900 food boxes to fight hunger in our region. Your energy and enthusiasm are truly inspiring!

Nǐ hǎo from Taiwan! Lancers made memories visiting Yehliu Geo Park, Long Shan Temple, Hsing Tian Kong, and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Between crafting traditional Taiwanese bags, shopping at ShiFen Station, and releasing lanterns into the sky for good wishes, the trip was one for the books.

Last night's Senior Awards and Cultivate: Let's Graduate, a new multicultural celebration of our graduating students. Introducing the newest members of the Kennedy Catholic Alumni Association, the Class of 2024!

Congrats to graduating senior Anyssa E. on her selection for the Teens in Public Service internship program this summer! Students get hands-on experience working for a nonprofit organization, which is a great introduction to public service. Community-focused, TIPS allows students to work directly for change in local organizations, serving the greater good.

It is a highly competitive honor, and this year it was a 12.5% acceptance rate. Anyssa was selected to continue pursuing her passion for the environment with her placement, which will connect her with hands-on experience directly related to her future major and career goals.

Overview — TEENS IN PUBLIC SERVICE For more than 25 years TIPS has provided over 1,100 teenagers with internships in more than 230 nonprofits in the Puget Sound area and provided over 230,000 public service hours. After a decades-long pause, the student-run newspaper, The Profile, has returned! Thank you to our students and staff moderators for bringing back and reimagining this important piece of our school's history.

Congratulations are in order to our award-winning Band and Color Guard. We came home with Best Overall Drum Major, Band Sweepstakes Award, and 1st Place in the 4A Division at the annual Apple Blossom Parade.

Our Senior Band and Color Guard also came in 1st at the Loyalty Days Parade in Long Beach, WA.

Easter Break trip 3/3: Iceland 🗻 our students had the chance to explore present geothermal and volcanic activity, as well as see the Northern Lights and walk on geysers. An unforgettable trip!

Easter Break trip 2/3: Yakima, WA! We're very proud of the students who chose to spend their break building a home for a family in need alongside Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity!

Excalibur spent Easter break in O'ahu! They had a busy trip, but here are some of the highlights 🌺

Our students had the chance to visit the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, a moving day for them. They also visited (and sang!) at the Capitol building, and Central Union Church, to name a few - only after rehearsing under some banyan trees in Honolulu. They saw the statue of King Kamehameha I, Diamond Head, the Nu’uanu Pali lookout, spent time at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and so much more. Welcome home, Lancers!

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week is coming to a close, but the conversations are just getting started! Thank you for taking the time to explore the facts and resources we shared throughout the week - we hope that any conversations you had with your teens were impactful and and a positive experience for all.
