Do you remember when you had your Jesus encounter? Where was it? What happened?

In my case, I was lost and Broken. In my case, I had spent so many years chasing the world that I felt unlovable and misunderstood most of the time.

What Changed? I visited a local Celebrate Recovery group where I was welcomed and loved on from the start! This is how my Road to Recovery started. It was at a Friday Night after Small group where I had my Jesus Christ encounter, and I have been working on my Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits ever since.

That's why I'm thankful for Jesus Christ and Celebrate Recovery. That's why I keep coming back. I know with Jesus in my life, I'm a new creation compared to my old life without Jesus!What's your God-filled story?

As we're getting closer and closer to the summit. We know we have our ups and downs: our good days and not-so-good days. At the same time, we know and have experienced those spiritual attacks, too. That's why we ask for prayers for Our National and Executive Team of CR.

Father God, we are asking for the Hedge of Protection and for you to continue to part the waters so that we can continue to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Father God, we are praying for our Forever Family and for our ministry as well. Please keep everyone healthy. We are grateful for what you do in our lives and are thankful to give back to this ministry. Father God, we pray all of this and the unspoken prayers, too, in Jesus Christ's mighty name, and everyone says Amen.

CR Lesson 21 RELAPSE is one of my favorite lesson.

Principle 7: Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will.

Step 11: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and power to carry that out.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” (Colossians 3:16)

Here are a few suggestions for preventing relapse:

✅️Pray and read your Bible daily. Establish a specific time of day to have your “quiet time.”
✅️Make attending your recovery meeting a priority. Stay close to your support team.
✅️Spend time with your family (if they are safe). If they are not, spend time with your church family.
✅️Get involved in service. Volunteer!

Don’t race against time; I once heard this from an Elder!

But yet, often, that is what we do. Instead of racing off to do something else today, stop to see the little things. Those small things hold such beauty.

Prayer for today
Jesus, help us to slow down and be reminded of YOU in the small things. Thank you, God for creating so much for us to discover and for the beauty all around us. Please help us remember that while we recover, you have loved us all along and won't stop loving us even when we feel like the "little thing" that people pass by. We thank you for creating us and helping us surrender our daily struggles to you. Father God, we pray this in your son Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen.

May is Military Appreciation Month. This would be a nice way to promote the Welcome Home Ministry of CR. 🙏🏼✝️🇺🇲

Life after the Military does not always make sense. The loss of a sense of brotherhood and the loss of being part of something important and bigger than myself can lead to feelings of frustration, isolation, emptiness, boredom, anger, or loneliness. In an attempt to cope with the pain of these overwhelming emotions, sometimes veterans turn to unhealthy relationships, at-risk behaviors, or substance abuse.

Welcome Home is Celebrate Recovery's tool to help veterans stuck in hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Welcome Home is an Open Share Group for veterans led by veterans. Participants can recapture some of that sense of brotherhood and sense of mission, because every week they gather to discuss what is happening in their lives and to reach out to other veterans struggling with different hurts, hang-ups and habits.

Whether you served during peace time or war, if you experienced combat or never heard a shot fired in anger, all veterans are welcome at Welcome Home!
