Many of you follow what True Faith Community is doing. As one of our local partners, we want to keep everyone updated on progress and needs...especially with their Tiny Home project. This is from Darrel Auvenshine and Carolyn Hanke:
"We have the joy of serving on the board for True Faith Community, a local ministry in Fort Worth that has been serving the community for 13 years, providing safe, affordable housing for impoverished families, incorporated into a loving Christian community with structure and discipleship that helps them reestablish their lives in Christ. For some years we have been developing and preparing to build four tiny houses that will become home to four single moms. The key to sustainability these families and TFC is for TFC to own homes, putting the income from the members’ monthly fees back into the ministry vs. to a landlord. And these tiny homes are the first step to becoming sustainable.
We are in the final stages and getting ready for construction within the next several weeks, but in the process, have incurred substantial fees with the City of Fort Worth exceeding $53,000. We are currently inviting others to help us recoup those funds so that the completion of this project will be seamless. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to partner in making a significant difference in the lives of those who will be served and in the transformation of an entire community. We are asking those who are able to partner with us with a donation of $500, $1000 or more if you are able. We have already received $20,000 toward the $50,000 so we know that we can reach this goal with your help."

His journey from destroying idols to seeking signs, and from victorious battle to personal failings, serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of spiritual transformation in leadership.

Today in the LAB, it was Christmas in July. So of course we had a gingerbread house contest.

This Week at Alsbury We will be collecting new baby or toddler toys or clothing items during the month of July for our local partner, NextStep Women’s Center. You can drop-off an item in the foyer until the last weekend in July.
