It’s been a long time coming. Old Wooden Trunk is finally stocking clothing in the eBay shop. Vintage and quality modern brands along with a huge selection of new Vintage and Modern Tee’s. Adding new item’s daily!

Great little find this week. Will be putting up in the eBay shop. Beautiful old NYOIL oil can from Wm. F. Nye, New Bedford, MA.

I’m always learning and researching. Some things catch my eye that I have no knowledge of. This purchase was one of those times. I purchased about 40 porcelain figures from a woman. All of them marked Germany. 2 stood out above all the others. They both are clothed in tiny crocheted clothing. I had never seen one before but I had to have them. Google image search quickly identified the little bisque porcelain figures as Hertwig.

Made around 1910 by Hertwig & Company of Katzhutte, Thuringen, Germany. They produced porcelain products from 1864 - 1941. They made dolls of all types. Nodders, Piano Babies, Snow Babies, Bisque Shoulder head dolls. These miniature anthropomorphic animals are extremely rare and even more rare with the original crocheted clothing intact. The duck sold very quickly after posting to eBay. The field mouse is currently still available.

Vermont Educational Television (Vermont ETV) 1967-1989 Colchester, Vermont.
Originally a service of the University of Vermont, in 1967; the network's four main transmitters were completed in March 1968. Originally mostly funded by the state of Vermont, Vermont ETV began fundraising in the community and developed a substantial audience in the Canadian province of Quebec, which has historically accounted for a significant portion of viewer donations and where a related charity once operated to process Canadian viewers' donations. Vermont ETV was separated from the university in 1989 and later renamed Vermont Public Television and Vermont PBS.

Just added this amazing photo to the eBay shop. A Group Photo of Civil War Veterans of the Grand Army of the Republic G.A.R. In full uniform and flags raised. A beautiful piece of History.

Continuing to list buttons from the large collection of Military buttons. Here are a couple uncommon ones. The Shanghai Volunteer Corps (1853-1942) was created on 12 April 1853 during the Small Swords Society's uprising. It saw action alongside British and American military units in the 1854 'Battle of the Muddy Flat. The other is a British Tank Corps. The Tank Corps was created in 1917 from the Heavy Branch Machine Gun Corps and received its “Royal” prefix in 1923. In 1939 it became the Royal Tank Regiment.

Here’s a great little find. 1930’s New England Stone carvers ledger. The book contains a log of all the purchases but it also contains drawings and details of Headstone designs. Names and dates, even the price they charged for the work. Using the info on a couple of the headstones, I looked them up on findagrave.com. Luckily they both had pictures of the headstones. Just like the drawing in the book. Stones are both here in New England. One in Vermont and the other in New Hampshire.
I love connecting these kinds of dots. Very rewarding to see the stones almost 100 years later.

Leo Ward of Terra Studio is most famous for his glass Arkansas Blue Birds of Happiness but these 2 birds are also from the same studio and dated 1987. I had no idea the birds would fluoresce under black light. They are beautiful and may have to sit in my collection for a while before I pass them on.

Mosquitohead was a clothing line established in 1986 in Los Angeles by Robert Brandt. They created amazing T-shirts. Famous for their Rock and Counter culture designs. Today they are some of the most sought after vintage T-shirts. We found this one of John Lennon & Yoko Ono yesterday.

Got these all cleaned up and ready for the booth. Vintage Nut Choppers. Made by Hazel Atlas in the 30’s & 40’s. Coming to the Market soon!
