Love this!

INTRODUCTION: Hello! My name is Arden Yingling, and I'm a new women's health practitioner at Burlington Acupuncture. I love working with you for fertility support, during and after pregnancy, during peri/menopause, and any time you're struggling with anxiety, chronic stress, or trauma.

⭐ MORE ABOUT ME ⭐

I fell in love with acupuncture when I was pregnant and diagnosed with borderline pre-eclampsia. Acupuncture kept me stable until it was safe for my daughter to be born, a gift I'll always be grateful for.

My treatment style is warm, gentle, and reassuring. I value time to talk and connect with you. I strive to be inclusive, trauma-informed, and body positive. All are welcome. 🌈

I've recently moved to Vermont after 10 years running a practice in Austin, TX, and I'm so happy to be here. I love mountains, birds, books, and baking.

⭐ MORE ABOUT YOU ⭐

You're looking for nurturing support during fertility challenges, pregnancy, midlife, or just the stress of life. You're curious about your body and mind, and open to making microshifts to support your long-term health. You value collaboration and a practical approach.

I'm currently accepting new patients. If it sounds like we might be a fit, you can book a phone consultation or an initial intake appointment online at burlingtonacupuncture.com or by calling 802-230-0909. I hope to meet you soon!

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season.

Hiking season is fast approaching. When was the last time you stretched your legs? If you haven't been up a mountain since last summer and fall, you should consider a massage before your hit the trails this spring.

"Having a healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body" -Unknown

What have you done to support your mental health today? This week? This month?

Regular mental health days can prevent stress and burnout. They give you time to reconnect to your thoughts and emotions. You never know how much you will benefit from a little downtime.

03/17/2023

It's okay to reset from time to time. To take it slow and spend time alone. It's okay to rest when your body is tired and take a mental health day when you're feeling low.

Massage is one of those self-care practices that can bring you back to yourself. It grounds you in your body and feels like hitting the reset button on muscle tension and pain.

If you want massage to be part of your reset, send us a DM to schedule. Or book online via Burlington Acupuncture.

Need a little extra sleep? Maybe a massage can help!

Did you know there are about 5 million touch receptors in our skin? You have 3,000 in a fingertip alone.

Massage stimulates the pleasure touch receptors. Unlike the touch receptors that notify your body of danger - pleasure receptors signal your body and mind that you are safe.

Massage benefits start when a massage therapist puts their hands on your body. The heat from their hands increases circulation and the touch receptors quickly notify the brain to let go of tension and enjoy the simple pleasure of touch.

Winter is the time to reset and relax, work on self-care, and turn your attention inwards.

We only have about a month left to embrace winter downtime and we want to know - how is your self-care routine? When was the last time you took some downtime for yourself?

If you or someone you love could use a little end-of-winter self-care, send us a message. You can also book online via Burlington Acupuncture!

Happiness is often more simple than we think. A kind word, a good book, a roaring fire... all of the little things. Today, we invite you to practice kindness. Maybe you compliment a stranger, tell your partner you love them, or speak to yourself more kindly.

Happiness and kindness take practice. But the more you practice them, the better you will feel.

Heat is a powerful natural healing method to treat chronic pain in the muscle and joints. It also increases circulation and gives a boost to your lymphatic system. Since the lymph system helps dispose of harmful pathogens and bacteria, heat also supports your immune system.

Massage by Caroline uses heated booties and hot rocks in addition to your massage. Not only is heat good for you, but it feels amazing!

Have your neck and shoulders been feeling extra tense lately? Neck and shoulder pain are typical wintertime woes.

We instinctually shrug when we are cold. When we shrug, we protect our neck and prevent heat from leaving the body. Our necks may be small, but they carry warm blood from our hearts to our heads.

Massage is a great way to relieve neck and shoulder tension. We can pull those shoulders down, create length in the neck, and give your body a little midwinter reset!

Send us a DM to book or book online via Burlington Acupuncture.

"The color of springtime is in the flowers; the color of winter is in the imagination." Terri Guillemets

We know it's grey outside but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy ourselves. Major loves digging in the snow and I love getting cozy after a long day of massages.

We hope you find some fun ways to spend the long days of winter! Puppy snuggles, hot stone massages, a long soak in the tub, and warm foods. Use your imagination!

Do the cold winter months have you feeling a bit depressed? Vermont has some of the worst weather in the US and - I don't know about you - but sometimes I miss the sun!

Did you know that massage might help with depression? It increases serotonin which lowers cortisol levels. Cortisol - the stress hormone - is often present at higher levels in people with depression. It also increases systemic inflammation which worsens chronic pain.

Brighten up your Vermont winter with a massage! Book online via Burlington Acupuncture.

One of our clients called our office a "sacred healing space" and we may be biased but we totally agree! Our new office inside Burlington Acupuncture is a cozy retreat from the freezing cold temps sweeping over Burlington!

Why not warm up with a massage this week? Get your blood moving without braving the great outdoors! Send us a message for availability or book online 💆

Do you ever get caught up in your plans for your life and forget to live? January always seems like the time when we take our plans too seriously. Our resolutions and ideas about how we want to spend our year get in the way of living!

As January winds to a close, we invite you to take a moment to take your life less seriously. Do something goofy, play a silly game, dance around your kitchen, and give your mind a break from the worry! Stop thinking and start feeling! What would make your day, week, or month complete?

And if you need a little help to relax and enjoy the moment, how about a little self-care treatment at Massage by Caroline? Send us a message for availability or book online via Burlington Acupuncture!

Why does it feel so good to hold certain trigger points?

Holding trigger points for 30 to 90 seconds helps to release muscle tension and pain. These points can be found all across the body - from the bottom of your big toe to the inside of your ears!

The one on the bottom of your foot corresponds to the muscles in your calves. According to traditional Chinese Medicine, it also helps with stress and insomnia.

Are you the person who always wants deep pressure during a massage?

People love deep tissue because of the relief it gives. Athletes with tight or overworked muscles, people with chronic pain, and anyone with a lot of stress or tension might really benefit from this popular massage technique.

You might feel afraid to ask for what you want during a massage, but how else is your massage therapist going to know what feels good for you!

Let Caroline know if you'd like some deep tissue work at your next appointment. DM to schedule or ask about availability.

What brings you joy? For us, touch is a major component of our happiness.

Did you know that if you squeeze someone's hips during labor, it reduces the intensity of late-stage contractions?

Touch is a powerful method of healing - it slows your heart rate, eases symptoms of stress and anxiety, boosts your immune system, and relieves pain.

Is your New Year's resolution to be better at self care?

The best way to begin is by introducing a small healthy habit stacked alongside an existing habit. For example, if you always drink a cup of coffee in the morning, try drinking one glass of water before you have your coffee.

You could also try booking your self care on a monthly basis, adding your self care to your schedule in a more active way. If massage is part of your self care routine (or you want to add it in 2023), you can now book massages with Caroline on Burlington Acupuncture's website!

Life is all about balance - movement and stillness, yin and yang, activity and rest. Your body is your greatest teacher. It knows what it needs and sends you signals to let you know when it's time to slow down or speed up.

What do you need more of today? Movement or stillness? Write your answer in the comments below!
