Champlain College Student Government Association
The Student Government Association is a social and financial resource that exists to empower & enable the students of Champlain College.
The Champlain College Student Government Association is a group of students that exists to serve and represent the student body. We want to empower you to take action to better your experience at Champlain and to collaborate in transforming your visions into reality on this campus. This year, the SGA is specifically focused on engaging consistently & connecting personally with the student body and
SGA has just passed a Resolution approved by Sodexo allowing “students to leave IDX with smaller, hand-held items.” Previously, only food like cookies and fruit could be taken out, but now students are allowed to take out items such as a piece of pizza, a bagel or a sandwich. So, if you are in a pinch to have a meal before class or work, we hope this change makes your dining hall experience even more convenient!
Come to the costume contest tonight at the Halloween dance!
Don't forget to vote today!
The following is a statement provided by 1st Year Representative candidate Kolby LaMarche. This advertisement is provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only; it does not constitute an endorsement or an approval by the Student Government Association of any of the opinions of the individual.
Fellow First-Year Students,
I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of First-Year Representative. Although there are a multitude of reasons why I am asking for your vote, my goal is to serve by using my experience to help create with you a community for everyone.
Our class is entering Champlain with a unique set of obstacles, and we require an experienced advocate who is ready to represent our class's interests. More importantly, someone who can help build a community for everyone in a time where COVID-19 makes it difficult to foster campus-wide relationships.
It is critical that we create an environment where everyone feels safe and has the opportunity to succeed in their education.
For nearly a decade, I have been a committed advocate for social justice and equity. My work has not only led me to receive an award from the Paij Wadley-Baily Social Justice Leadership Institute, but it has taught me the power of working together and using our different skills and experiences toward a common goal.
I believe we are stronger when the values of empathy, diversity, and inclusion are used to guide us forward. Each of us holds a stake in this community. We need someone who has experience bringing everyone to the table and working hard to create and develop a strong group network built for all. I happen to believe that person is me.
I thank you for engaging in this process and considering me to be your representative.
