Founded in 2004, Dragonheart Vermont strives to strengthen and empower breast cancer survivors and supporters through the challenging sport of dragon boating. We instill in our members the values of teamwork, fitness and community giving. We promote the growth of dragon boating in our community. We enrich our lives through dragon boat racing and new friendships. We unite our community in charitable giving through dragon boat racing. We organize the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival.
Mark your calendars for the liveliest event of the Summer: The Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival weekend: August 3 and 4, 2019. The Festival attracts 1,800 dedicated paddlers from Vermont and across North America, racing 41-foot long dragon boats for an unforgettable day of fitness, fun, and fundraising. Community Bank N.A. was the presenting festival sponsor for the 2019 Festival.

We welcome Sister’s and Cancer Survivor teams to come up and paddle in the 500 M ERBDA races on Saturday and 200 M races on Sunday. In addition Our Sisters at Heart day will be in full swing on Saturday, August 3rd. Our goal is to have 64 community teams and 10 Breast Cancer Survivor teams paddling during the event. Community teams will be racing on Sunday the 4th. Community teams are made up of local businesses, non-profits, service groups, neighbors, and families like YOU who know that together we can make a real difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors with cancer. No experience necessary. For Community Teams needing to learn to paddle, the practice weekend is July 20 and 21. Our coaches will instruct you in technique, stroke, and race strategies.
