ALLtitude

Your body is always trying to tell you something. It could be telling you to rest, or it could be telling you that you have more strength than you think.

Learning to listen to those signals, understanding what they’re telling you, and acting upon them in your training and life take time, practice, and patience. We believe that the journey of learning how to listen to those signals, and the directions you take to act upon them, is the key to unlocking your athletic and health potential. The rewards from this journey are lifelong. Our logo, our coach

Unexpected surprise, older athletes mentoring younger athletes 🤩 were running all ages groups this fall since we don’t have an indoor space (just easier for planning purposes) - but we have to say we’re happy with accidental bonus from doing this!

Not feeling rainbows after one of his KPIs, but we’re seeing them in the background 😂 Riley putting in max effort to find out where his aerobic capacity is at for the start of fall session

Get outside!! Exposure to nature (or forest bathing) has been linked to better functional immune systems and better cognitive function. A few of our fall youth performance program athletes, and their parents, joined us for our fall program block kick off hike. We’re excited to see this crew put in focused work and have fun over the next 14 weeks. Sports represented include alpine ski racing, baseball, tennis, mountain biking, track and field.

Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) Round 2
We're feeling very cheeky this week after seeing some overly complicated athlete stretching online 😆

Exercise: Table-Top Hip CARS

Focus: Fine movement control of the hip capsule and surrounding musculature and core stability

Benefit: Better awareness of safe and effective/powerful range of motion through hip joint

Reminder, simple is better

The Hunt Family - Steps for Sleep 04/26/2022

Please consider donating if you believe every child deserves a bed! The Hunt family has been with us since we started, and we love and appreciate their drive to support Steps for Sleep. See info below for them and how to donate

The Hunt Family - Steps for Sleep We are taking steps for our own health and wellbeing by participating in My Very Own Bed's Steps for Sleep on April 30, 2022 - a walk and wellness event focusing on the connection between exercise and sleep. Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) 😂 We love this phrase

Exercise: Lower Body Roll

Focus: teaching appropriate anterior and posterior sling chain control with the floor being a guide

Benefit: better pelvic girdle coordination and strength + back flexibility

Simple is better, we promise you... If a goal or movement feels too complex, it probably is. Take the time to break it down with your coach and find the best pathway forward for you!

Dedication... It's trust... trusting the process. Trusting your coaches. Trusting your family. Knowing that you may not experience the results of your hard work for months or years to come, yet trusting yourself and sticking to the process

Millions of small steps in the right direction is one heck of a journey

Check out a few of our athletes; some well along in the squat journey and some just starting 🏋️‍♀️🏋️

with a few of our spring Youth Performance program athletes and Coaches Mike and Matt. Skiers, track athletes, and tennis players... oh my!

We're looking forward to seeing ALL of our athletes crush their spring training and grow as competitors and people

to our final day of Fall Performance Dryland. We invited all the athletes, and their families, out to enjoy some field games

A BIG thank you to Artin for always being able to make the group laugh 😁

Do you experience chronic unresolved pain, lingering headaches, neck stiffness, or all 3?

Vision. It's a huge part of our methodology. Not only for our athletes that need to see well during their sports, but for many of our client day to day life needs.

See what happens here between the 1st and 2nd frame. 1st frame = lots of blinking, jumping eyes, unable able to focus on the tip of the pen. All signs of the brain stressing out over a simple vision exercise. 2nd frame = no blinking, eyes focused on the pen tip, a relaxed face. This change occurred over 10 minutes and the client marked noticeable increases in shoulder, neck, and hamstring flexibility.

See well to move well

You know what we're thankful for? The opportunity to watch many of our SPRING and FALL Performance Dryland doing what they love and seeing them reap the rewards of all of their hard work.

Keep reaching higher and remember to enjoy the process.

💪🦵🧠🦵💪Throwback to one of our collegiate athletes, Eric, putting in serious work on his absolute strength from his summer off season. Yes, we know, it's not a full depth squat. Guess what, and we may get some haters on this, partial range strength development can be as impactful as full range of motion (ROM) in long-term athletic development. Eric is a talented Division 1 soccer player and is a champ of challenging himself mentally and physically. He's moving around over 2x his body weight in this short clip of above 90 degree box squats.

Being able to overload an athlete like this is a simple and safe way to bust through absolute strength plateaus. We're not saying everyone should do this, or that it's the secret to success, but partial ROM is an often misunderstood and underutilized tool that can provide A LOT of value to a developing athlete if programmed and progressed properly. Think of it as a way to trick you're body into unlocking more muscle torque generation than it typically allows you to. The potential is there, you're body just needs to understand what it CAN do. This is especially true for field or high hip position based sports that do not compete in positions of deep hip flexion.

Belief can be a HUGE asset in the effectiveness of movement in sport and in injury rehab. Believing, truly believing beyond positive self-talk, has been shown to eliminate pain just as effectively as associated medical procedures for pain relief. See this fascinating overview from Science Daily on a study conducted by Baylor School of Medicine on knee repairs.

These box rebound jumps are some of our favorite tools to be creative with. They’re an amazing driver of soft and hard tissue strength and development. They also really let an athlete see and trust that their body is capable of handling high impact scenarios post injury rehab. Our athlete, Steve, has been doing an amazing job with his complexity and power development over the last 4 weeks post back and hamstring rehabilitation. He’s getting to see firsthand what his body is ready to do. We can’t wait to see you crush your competition season Steve!

We've been taking a break from social media... It's been a whirlwind of season prep for our winter season athletes... BUT we've been working hard, like we ask our athletes to do, and we're looking forward to sharing some amazing news in the coming months 💪💪

In the meantime, check out the results of our FALL training block for 's Emily Gustafson! Pulling up 260lbs for 4 reps with her deadlift this Tuesday. That's over a 20% increase in raw strength from where she started in the SPRING training block. She's been putting in the work and is ready to dominate the ski slopes this winter 💪⛷💪 Be strong and ski strong! That's true for all sports and life.

08/11/2021

ADULT Dryland is starting up again this month! We're excited to be teaming up with Midwest Masters to not only keep Adults feeling strong and healthy, but keep them involved in the sports they love for a long time! 💪💪

Our final daily deadlift this week as we wrap up the SPRING Performance Dryland..

The Pendergast Family 🥳

It's always a pleasure seeing how close these 3 sisters are and how they support each other is amazing. We don't train the sport at ALLtitude, we work with the family...

Top = Marta - making fast work of 215lbs
Middle = Annika - learning how strong she can be
Bottom = Sonja - taking her first steps in our older program

07/15/2021

All movement is essentially a starting point and an ending point... the transition between those 2 points, and how well you accomplish them, are the test of your speed (vision + control)

Athlete Parker Hunt getting close to 2x his body weight for a 235lbs lift 💪💪

You can find Parker on snow in the winter (alpine racing) and in the dirt during the summer (mt bike racing)

07/14/2021

Daily deadlift #3 this week... Jaggen testing how just how much coordination and control he has. Lot's of potential in this guy 💪💪 Excited to see what he accomplishes in the FALL Performance Dryland starting in August
