Quite literally obsessed with my new, handcrafted solid white oak bathroom vanity made by yours truly! I couldn't be more excited to get this bad boy installed. You can't find this quality in stores folks, so get your hands dirty and build it yourself! 🀩

Christmas is coming and I have some creations that would make great gifts! πŸŽπŸŽ„

All must be picked up in the Twin Cities area - shipping is not available at this time.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful and safe holiday season!

Update: not taking custom orders at this time - this is my available inventory.

Patio set designed and built by yours truly! Very pleased with how this whole set turned out.

The (under) TV stand is complete and the ottoman is in its place! I added a leather handle to break up the pattern and make it a bit easier to pull out to access the storage and I LOVE that extra touch!

For the stand, I wanted something simple to put under the TV and this is what I came up with. Does the job and only needed to use 4 pieces of wood. Perfect. πŸ™Œ

I still need to figure out what to do with the cords but I'll leave that for another day...or year 🀣

The ottoman is complete! I'm super pleased with how this turned out πŸ₯²πŸ’• huge thanks to my mom for doing the sewing portion of this project! πŸ₯°

Can we take a moment for that piping? Thanks mom for doing that extra lil touch that really brings it up a notch! ☺️

It's cool to buy new home decor items but MAN does it feel good to be able to say, "I made that!"

My making season has definitely slowed down with it being so cold lately πŸ₯Ά

But now that Christmas has passed and I no longer run the risk of ruining a surprise, I can share one of my latest project that takes top for all time fave 🀩 yes I'll be making more of these in additional sizes so keep an eye out in the coming months if you're wanting to get your hands on one like this!

Loving this custom try. Ooh is it cute or what?! πŸ₯°

This beauty went to go live in her forever home last week! This was a fun and challenging custom for me. I think the colors ended up working perfectly for the space and it really stands out as a statement piece for the room!

So much to be grateful for! Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of me in this journey. Everyone who has purchased or ordered has truly made an impact on my life, and I am forever grateful for that.

I hope you spend today filling your stomach with good food surrounded by good company. 😊

I've been wanting my own charcuterie board foreeeever. But they're spendy, and I'm cheap when it comes to buying something I know I can make with a bit of elbow grease and time. I had some leftover hickory from the mantle, so I figured I should give it a go! We're hosting some get-togethers soon and I figured it was time to add a charcuterie board to my arsenal of serveware 😈 I coated it with Danish oil to bring out those natural colors.

What do you think?!

11/10/2022

I've been cranking out these projects pretty quickly and I'm almost caught up! With that being said, I'm extending my Christmas order deadline to December 1st. πŸŽ‰

As a reminder, 50% deposit is required prior to me beginning your project, and delays in payment may result in late completion. Twin Cities pick up ONLY, not offering shipping at this time (sorry)

New mantle complete βœ”οΈ

I really wanted an old beam for a mantle, but if you've ever looked at prices of them, you know they're not cheap. So I figured I should try making one! I think it turned out pretty well. I used a beautiful Hickory wood and Dark Walnut stain.

Believe it or not, Christmas is not very far away! πŸŽ„ It's time to start thinking about what meaningful gifts you plan to gift to those you love ❀️

Here is some of my current inventory. I have some smaller mountain pieces as well as some mountain key holders that are available (photos now attached). Message for details!

if you are considering requesting a custom order, now is the time to do so! Cutoff for Christmas orders will be November 1st. Twin Cities pickup ONLY - not offering shipping at this time (sorry)

It's truly special when a good friend asks me to make a mountain piece to put in her child's room 🧑

10/05/2022

The quality control team is in today to offer their pawz of approval on my current projects. The nerves are real, hoping they approve my work πŸΎπŸ˜‰

09/19/2022

I will be out of the workshop until September 30th! Please expect delays in communication until then.

Thank you! 🧑

09/19/2022

I finished these two pieces (woohoo!πŸŽ‰), started to clean the shed and then dropped an entire pint of stain on me πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈβ˜»οΈ so that's fun πŸ˜‚

Anyways, these are probably my favorite pieces EVER! What, I can't say that about every piece I make? πŸ˜‰

I tried a new technique on my sky for the mountain piece and I'm obsessed! What do you think?!

Heads up I'll be "out of shop" until the 30th so expect delays in communication until then!

09/17/2022

And she's done! βœ”οΈ

I had no idea where I was going with this when I started it, and I was certain it would turn into a disaster. I just kept going and saw where it was gonna go. But that's typically how my pieces begin - without a plan 🀣

I've got one more geometric piece in the works along with a mountain piece. I usually have 2-3 pieces I'm working on at a time. After these are done, I'm closing down shop while we go on a trip and then I'm going to begin working on some custom orders! πŸŽ‰

Throwback to my first piece of wooden art that I made! 🧑

Last August I had a week off from work and I had a long list of what I was going to do with that week. It consisted of painting the kitchen, painting the cleaning closet (which is in the hallway going out of our kitchen, and yikes was that a project in and of itself!), build new shelves for the closet, add a board and batten wall by our back door, and build this art piece to go above it!

Well, ya girl threw out her back 2 days before this whole project-filled week began! πŸ˜’

If you're a planner, you already know I had these tasks divided up day-by-day. Let's just say I did not keep on schedule, but I did finish all of it! πŸŽ‰

I incorporated lots of breaks and stretching and *trying* not to over do it and hurt myself even more.

At the end of the week I sat back and looked at the amazing progress that I had made! Sometimes we're meant to fall off the made up schedule we make for ourselves. It teaches us that we are not entirely in control, and when things go wrong we can learn from it.

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday! ⚘️

It's amazing what you can make out of a pile of wood and a few hours of work!

I've been wanting one of these little trays for such a long time, and I finally decided it was time to get to work and make one!

What do you think?! Cute, right?! πŸ˜πŸ’ž

Things I have learned during this project:

-use wood glue vs nailing so it looks cleaner
-wear gloves when sanding small pieces 😬

And most importantly....

-patience is required for all woodworking crafts

I have a tendency to want to snap my fingers and have the project be done, but woodworking is teaching me that is NOT going to happen if I want the outcome to be appealing.

What are some things you have learned during your time as a woodworker or crafter? Let me know below! πŸ‘‡βœ¨οΈ

Here she is ✨️

Another of my wooden trays is complete! Such a cute decor piece to add to your home 🏑 πŸ’•

It will be available for purchase at a craft fair soon! Stay tuned!

Hi friends!

My name is Amy & I'm the face of Cardinal Creations Woodworking & Crafts. My husband and I were lucky to buy our first home in February 2021, and even more lucky that it has a wood shop! πŸ™‚

We have become more & more intrigued with woodworking over the last couple years, and I've always been a crafter. We started making some of our own furniture, and I have made many pieces of art for our home. I decided to start this page to not only share my projects, but to document the progress we make as we learn new things and better our skills!

If you are MN-based - stay tuned! Some of the things you see here will be for sale at craft fairs in the *near* future!
