Exciting news: Girls on the Run is returning to Gideon Pond!

Girls on the Run is an afterschool program that uses the power of being active to prepare 3rd - 5th grade girls and non-binary kids for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Over the course of the 8-week, 16-lesson season, participants will learn life-changing lessons about healthy friendships, teamwork, decision-making, self-respect and more, all while preparing to complete a 5K. Open to all 3rd - 5th grade kids and non-binary/gender expansive youth; no previous running experience required, and generous financial aid is available.

Our season will be each Tuesday & Thursday 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. from September 10 - November 12, with a celebratory Girls on the Run 5K the weekend of November 9-10.

Pond Community: We have a 2nd grade student whose family lives near Costco and needs some help with drop off and pick up transportation for the last 3 weeks of school. Their only car is in the shop and the part is not available until June. The family does not have any family and friends who are able to help and would like for their son to be able to finish out the school year. Could anyone help this family with this need? Reach out to the school office if you’re able to help!

Our last event of the year is on Monday, June 3! Please volunteer to help with All School Field Day - which this year will consist of monitoring an inflatable obstacle course, a slide and bounce houses. Check out the sign up for grade level shift times - if you can sign up for more than one, that's even better!

Happy Mother’s Day to all who care for and nurture our Pond Community.

We are looking forward to our Multicultural Night celebration tomorrow night, which will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM. We'll have live performances, fun activities and lots of food! There is no cost, but RSVPs are appreciated.

There is still a need for volunteers tomorrow night for Multicultural Night, and still time to sign up for a shift! Even if you're available to come early to help with set up, or stick around at the end to help with clean up, that would be much appreciated!

p.s. thank you to everyone who contributed to Staff Appreciation, either through PTO or in your own ways. Our teachers and staff have passed along their appreciation for all the goodies.
