Kids Ministry hosted our first sandwich-making night. We learned that our kids are fantastic sandwich makers, and our group made our 200 sandwich goal in no time! We plan to make 400 next time! The kids also prayed over the sandwiches for the people receiving them.

We are excited to kick off the year with a new sermon series on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

Pastor Mike Lotzer will be preaching this Sunday and you can read an introduction to the series here... "The Sermon on the Mount is the word of Jesus and His Kingdom. It is not a how-to manual that will make the world perfect overnight. It informs us that with the coming of Jesus, The Kingdom of Heaven has infiltrated planet Earth. It assumes we now live in “the in-between time” when Jesus’ rule is spreading (but still obviously incomplete). This sermon launched countless little “Kingdom advance parties” that sprung up and continue to spring up everywhere. You know them as the imperfect churches, small groups, and Kingdom-oriented ministries and friend groups that go against the grain of the world’s priorities. This sermon is realistic. It admits the default setting of our world is anxiety, envy, addiction, lust, violence, etc. and it knows we’re not going to suddenly change that. Yet this sermon reminds us that our time on earth has a purpose. We are meant to create a compelling counterculture as we live under Jesus’ Lordship and put into practice his Commandments alongside each other."
