The Burnsville Rotary Club loves to serve its community! Yesterday was another trash pick-up day on McAndrews Road in Burnsville. We found quite a few unique and interesting items in the grass, shrubs, boulevards, and medians: a piece of car bumper, a shopping cart, a tire tread, and much more! It's always a surprise what we'll find next.

As Burnsville Rotarians celebrate the Magic of Rotary with plans for a new year of impact, we welcome the leadership of new President Joe Nelson. Joe is no stranger to Rotary. For him, "it's a family thing." Some of his fondest memories from his childhood involved attending Rotary meetings with his two grandfathers, both Rotarians.
"My wife, Ali, and I are beyond fortunate in life. We owe it to our community to give back," Joe says, echoing the shared values of service and community among Burnsville Rotarians. "Rotary gives us an unmatched opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate."
Joe has already set ambitious goals and initiatives for our next year, and Burnsville Rotarians are excited. Thanks, Joe, for taking over the Rotary wheel to steer us to even greater heights!

Burnsville Noon Rotary meetings are not just fun gatherings but also a testament to our shared commitment to supporting each other and our community. They are a platform for continuous learning and personal growth, providing us with the opportunity to host esteemed guests like Representative Athena Hollins (DFL—66B).
Rep. Hollins recently delivered an insightful presentation about cultural competency and inclusion in our communities, workplaces, and clubs at our noon meeting. She shared that her multiracial extended family and her experiences in law and the Minnesota State Legislature instilled an appreciation for diverse perspectives in decision-making and overcoming challenges.
Thank you, Representative Hollins!

Rich recently shared with the Burnsville Rotary Club the importance of maintaining our mental skills as we age, debunking the myth that cognitive decline is inevitable. He enlightened us with the latest theories on brain function and aging, provided practical strategies for keeping our minds sharp, and even engaged us in some fun brain training exercises!

The Burnsville Rotary Clubs thank the sponsors and attendees of our 47th Annual Concert for Caring on Saturday! Your support of our fundraisers is one of the reasons we can help 34 worthy charities and ISD 191 with grant distributions and scholarships every year. Thank you all!
The audience enjoyed a fun night dancing in the aisles and listening to the talented Mick Sterling Presents performers deliver Bee Gees classics.
In addition to supporting the Burnsville Rotary Clubs, attendees contributed to the Law Enforcement Labor Services Benevolent Fund to help the families of the Burnsville first responders who gave their lives earlier this year. Cash contributions to the fund totaled nearly $2,200 alone. Thank you all for your generosity and care.
Burnsville Breakfast Rotary
With a drive, the Burnsville Noon Rotary and Burnsville Breakfast Rotary clubs joined forces Wednesday evening at Bricksworth Beer in Burnsville to complete a project to help people experiencing homelessness. Burnsville Rotarians assembled 100 care packs of socks, hand warmers, beef sticks, granola bars, and more to hand out to unsheltered people in the community. Rotarians will keep packs in their cars, ready to deliver to people on the street who need them.
