Five years ago today, Jessica Ashley Garmon acquired Industrial Electric Supply | MBE, DBE, WBE (IES). Since acquiring the company, Jessica and her team have evolved into a full-service wholesale electrical distributor for complete lines of electrical, lighting, industrial, data and telecommunications networking products, wire and cable, tools and safety equipment.



Today, our quality electrical products and material service the utility, construction, commercial, and industrial markets throughout the Chicagoland Area, Tennessee, Indiana, New Jersey and New York. Since the acquisition, the Company’s revenue has tripled, and the team has thrived.



IES is certified as a Women/Minority Business Enterprise (“W/MBE”) and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (“DBE”) nationally. Notable projects include, being awarded The Illinois Public Higher Education Cooperative (IPHEC) contract for electrical supplies, equipment and services. Most recently, IES was active at JFK International Airport providing support for Terminal 8. The Terminal 8 project improves the overall customer experience, with a total of 70,400 square feet of added space including 33,000 square feet of public space. Another 57,500 square feet of existing space will be refurbished.



The new Terminal 8 amenities include, premium lounges, enhanced baggage systems, premium check-in space and upgraded concessions.

👀 A peak inside the University of Illinois Chicago’s Technology Solutions building where we changed the fluorescent lighting to LED and cell lenses to prismatic.

The conference room in UIC’s Technology Solutions building was also upgraded with MaxLite LED flat panels.

Our team had the pleasure of providing materials and assistance to Inherent L3C Homes, a low-profit limited liability company, to help them get closer to completing their first Inherent ! IES supplied electrical material for this project including pipes, wires, 1900 boxes, couplings, connectors, receptacles, tools, and more. Our team used brands we trust for materials like Raco, Bridgeport, Hubbell Incorporated, 3M, DEWALT, etc.

University of Illinois Chicago upgraded the light on the artwork along the staircase in their Architecture and Design Studios’ building lobby by adding Signify track heads and Philips Lighting's LED master class par lamps, provided by our team.

Yesterday our team hosted students from the ComEd CONSTRUCT Infrastructure Academy. This 11-week training program offers the information and guidance needed to compete for good-paying, entry-level field and office jobs in construction-related fields. To date, nearly 600 students have participated in the program and nearly 70% of our graduates have been offered employment.



We continue to be thankful for our partnership with ComEd.

Interconnected learning and living environments, lounges, study areas, seminar rooms and a cafe fill the 15,500-square-foot space,....

Our Industrial Electric Supply | MBE, DBE, WBE team supplied Benchmark fixtures for University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. UIUC electricians replaced 79 metal Halide High Bay fixtures with LED fixtures and the new Benchmark fixtures in the East Hall of the UIUC Memorial Stadium.
