Save the date!

To finish our FFA week at Caledonia High School we had drive your tractor to school day! Students signed up to bring tractors from home and were escorted into the parking lot by Officer Stewart, where the rest of the school would vote on their favorite tractor!

Alumni! If you are eligible for your American Degree, the deadline to apply is May 10th!

Attention Caledonia Drivers! Tomorrow is Drive your Tractor to School Day at the high school. Please watch for students driving their tractors around the high school and Cal-Plex in the morning and have patience. Keep our students safe!

We had a very successful petting zoo at Caledonia High School for our FFA Week! Members volunteered to bring animals to the school to give staff and students the opportunity to see and learn about the animals!

These leaders are participating in the Region V FFA Officer Camp today. They are taking part in breakout sessions, officer training, and voting on our Regional Officers . Wish Carly luck as she runs for Regional Office!

Last Friday, 20 of our members competed in the Michigan FFA Spring Skills Contest. We had teams compete in Jr. High Quiz Bowl, Food Science, Floriculture, and Vet Science.
Here are the results!

Jr. High Quiz Bowl Team 1: Emma Lerg, Evan Diehl, and Adam Peereboom - 17th place out of 20 teams

Jr. High Quiz Bowl Team 2: Brinley Lyzenga, Maddox Bockover, and Emma Palmer - 3rd place out of 20 teams

Food Science: Ella Canup, Zofia Skrzypek, Anna VanderWal, and Gabriela Rissley - 2nd place out of 19 teams

Floriculture: Carly VanderRoest, Layla Bouwens, Mackenzie Krentz, Patrick VanderKolk, and Mia Nelson - 76th place out of 116 teams

Vet Science: Ava LaBine, Ellie Kadzban, Natalie DeTurk, and Natalie Le - 75th place out of 131 teams

We had a very successful Ag Olympics at lunch for Caledonia High School’s FFA Week! Students were tasked with making it through a timed obstacle course with various difficult items. Congratulations to our winners!

We added more trophies to the FFA's case! Last week was Michigan FFA's State Convention. We had one Creed Speaker and one Jr. High Conduct of Meetings team competing, and several individuals receiving awards. These trophies and awards are evidence of the hard work and effort our members have been putting in this year. We could not be more proud of their achievements!

We had a great time at State Convention!

Caledonia represented well at the Region V Leadership Contests last night! Mackenzie Krentz and our Jr. High Conduct of Meetings Team will be competing at the state level at the Michigan FFA State Convention later this month.

Last night FFA members from Caledonia, Lowell, Belding, Ionia, and Saranac competed in the District Leadership Contests at Saranac High School.

Our members had great success with individuals/teams from four events moving on to Regionals! Please help us congratulate our members on a job well done!

We have had a great week at the Kent County Youth Fair! Four of our members represented the Chapter showing their market lamb projects.

A huge thank you to Kent County Farm Bureau for purchasing our Chapter fundraising lamb project. Thank you also to Caledonia Farmers Elevator, Burnips Equipment, and Armada Technologies for purchasing our Co-Op lamb projects!

Four of our members have been spending their summer caring for market lambs to be shown and sold at the 2023 Kent County Youth Fair! Buyer letters were hand delivered all around Caledonia today inviting businesses to support our chapter by purchasing one of these lambs, or even just filling out a bid form!

The FFA lamb will be shown and sold by Patrick Vanderkolk, with Hailey Smith, Mia Nelson, and Peter Calhoun entering as individuals alongside the FFA.

We want to thank all businesses that received buyer letters for their support, but links of each letter are provided below along with a bid form for all to participate. All donations and participation is greatly appreciated, and we hope to see lots of familiar faces at the fair!
