The last one of the Dover Dozen dogs

Likely the father (or one of them) of the other 11 dogs that were found.
Duke is a scaredy cat and is still a work in progress with leash walks. He will bolt to the end of his leash and then lay down and crawl.
Lacking basic social skills as an adult dog is difficult and Duke needs an owner who will take the time to help him overcome his insecurities and work daily on confidence building in order to get him to "normal" house dog status.

Duke crates well. He is okay with other dogs outside his run but doesn't like to share space or food and will resource guard his bowl.
He would do great as an only dog but could happily co exist with an older or middle aged female dog. He was beating up the younger males so it's best if he doesn't go to a home with another male dog as he has had scraps in the past.

Duke is fine with kids as long as they respect his cues. He takes food gently and loves belly rubs
He should be supervised around kids with high value treats or fed separately given his past.
Dog savvy kids would be just fine.

Sometimes he nervous pees
Sometimes he shuts down and crawls under things.
The car is foreign to him and a little scary
Big time chicken in a dogs body.

We're hoping someone special sees his face and knows he is worth the time.

Dukes adoption fee is $250 plus hst. This includes his Vaccines and Chip, heartworm test and neuter.
