Disheartening… please watch for these
Also take a moment to consider donating to or joining your local VOLUNTEER department.

First off we would like to thank everyone who came out for the touch-a-truck today. We think all the kids had a great time.

Unfortunately the second part of this post is not as nice.
We ask that everyone in the area keep an eye out at pawn shops/online sales, etc for 9 flashlights identical to the one in the photo. 9 lights have been stolen from our station while it is under construction. Any help in locating these lights will be greatly appreciated as it will cost nearly $1,400.00 to replace them. Each of our lights will have a unit number starting with 95- on the bottom front of the light. We greatly appreciate any help in recovering the lights and identifying the person responsible for the theft.

As we are nearing the start of school, may this serve as a reminder on how/when to stop for a school bus.

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family.

He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work the employer came to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter.

"This is your house," he said, "My gift to you!"

The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.

So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into "the building". Then with a shock we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we'd do it much differently. But we cannot go back.

You are the carpenter.

Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. "Life is a do-it-yourself project," someone has said.

Your attitudes and the choices you make today, build the "house" you live in tomorrow.

PLEASE!!! Slow down and move over!!!
They are working hard to care for you in your time of need. All the training in the world can’t protect them from someone who doesn’t care to follow their own drivers training.

Today we celebrate the ability of our Nation to recognize the wrongs that were done, to learn from them so they aren’t repeated, and to heal from the hurt that was caused.

Another Ohio Lad doing something great!

Painting the newly released America 250 logo on a barn in New Pittsburgh, Ohio and was able to get a few lightning shots before the rain and hail hit. Tornado sirens went off here twice, but overall it didn't get bad here, just a big display of power and awe. I hope you'll comment and share this one and help this project grow some legs! Shall I share the video? www.barnartist.com
