Cuisine en Locale is a catering and event company founded in 2005 with a mission to support local farmers. To that end we make delicious food and deliver it to customers using ingredients from within 100 miles, to the best of our ability. Since we started we have received numerous best of awards for our food and services, including Boston Magazine's best of Boston and the best caterer from Somervi

Dinner at home. Lemon cucumbers and peaches with pomegranate balsamic and lime leaf olive oil, baby okra and fairy eggplant sautéed with garlic and cumin, and wild striped bass cooked over mashed potatoes with caramelized onions.

Cooking tomorrow for a big family vacation. Making veggie kebabs, and marinating chicken and steak, all for the grill. Plus lots of veggies prepped for salad, and a ton of broccoli mac and cheese. Keeping everyone well fed so they can enjoy their sun time and eat local.

Hadley Grass? What's all the fuss about??
"Every spring, JJ Gonson, of Somerville event and catering company Cuisine en Locale, hops in her truck and makes the four-hour round trip to Boisvert Farm in Hadley. She drives down a small dirt road to a barn, where she buys crates of freshly picked and trimmed asparagus: “It’s sold not by the pound but the handful.” She buys 10 to 15 cases a year and brings it back home."

Have you ever visited the Miyawaki Forest, inside of Danehy Park, in Cambridge? It’s so cute! You can walk around it and hug it, and it’s gonna grown up to be a real forest some day, with trees that support and communicate with each other. It’s very cool. Yay, trees!!

Did you know that Hadley, MA is considered the Asparagus Capital of the World? For years Queen Elizabeth II had it imported for her Annual Spring Feast. JJ Gonson - as queen of Cambridge locavore food - makes the trek each spring to bring the green grass to urban folk. More cases coming up!

There was a big asparagus love fest in soggy Cambridge, yesterday!
For more than 15 years, we have been running out to Hadley MA to pick up the world’s most delicious asparagus, Hadley grass, and bring it back to crowds of happy city people. This run was 9 cases, which is 216 bunches of grassy heaven.
Look for delicious asparagus popping up in our meals and catering- but not for long! The season ends in early June, so grab it while you can!
