Must be at least 18 years old; high school diploma, GED, or experience equivalent; driver's license; Pass pre, post, and random drug & alcohol test; BCII Criminal background check; provide professional references; and must be caring, compassionate, & work well with senior citizens. Drivers must pass a DOT physical.

The Ohio Department of Development and Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center, Inc. want to remind Ohioans assistance is available to help with their home energy bills. The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps Ohioans at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines pay their heating bills.
Ohioans can visit energyhelp.ohio.gov to apply online, download a copy of the application, or find contact information for a local Energy Assistance Provider. Senior citizens may go to GMN Tri-County office for help with assembling the required documents and completing their HEAP application.
Individuals will need to have copies of the following documents to include with their application:
Most recent utility bills.
A list of all household members (including birth dates and Social Security numbers).
Proof of income for the past 30 days for all household members (12 months for certain income types).
Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency for all household members.
Proof of disability (if applicable).
HEAP benefits are applied to an individual’s energy bill after Jan. 1. If you need immediate assistance with your energy bills, please contact your local Energy Assistance Provider. A list of providers can be found at energyhelp.ohio.gov.
The last day to apply for the regular HEAP benefit is May 31, 2024. For more information or assistance with applying for a HEAP benefit, contact Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center, Inc. at (740)439-6681.

It was a fun and interesting trip today in Amish Country! We spent the morning at the Age of Steam Roundhouse learning all about the trains they have at their facility. Then we had lunch at Dutch Valley and did a little shopping afterwards before heading home. 🚂

What a beautiful day to celebrate the opening of the new Southgate Bridge! We were blessed to have our eldest client, Ruth, who is 106 join us to be amongst the first to cross the bridge. Thank you to the associates at Hospice of Guernsey for helping get Ruth to the ceremony. We feel so privileged to have been included in today’s celebration ❤️

Just a friendly reminder as the temperatures continue to rise over the next several days, Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center is a cooling shelter. Our doors will be open until 6:00PM, Monday-Friday. Please feel free to come and visit us in order to stay cool and beat the heat! Seniors can enjoy fun bingo, lunch, as well as a whole host of other indoor activities & events. Or simply relax, read a good book, or watch TV in the Living & Library Room. We encourage seniors to stay hydrated and don't overexert yourself, especially during the hottest times of the day. Please remember to check in with your neighbors and loved ones, especially if they have chronic disease or are vulnerable to overheating. It's official. The Southgate Parkway Bridge will be opening June 18th. Join us for a celebration. The ceremony will begin at 10:30. We will have music by the Cambridge City Band, speakers and food trucks, including Up in Smoke, Jimmy Avocados and Brothers Treats.
