Young artist on the rise who knew how to stand out from the musical limits of his country. Jorge Cebrián aka Åre:gone, from Havana, Cuba, is positioned among the first lines of contemporary Techno. With almost 10 years of experience, he has transited through various expressions of the genre, standing out for his characteristic groovy, organic and Cuban touch.

In 2017 he founded with a group of friends the Rusty Nails collective, a space to promote the underground techno culture poorly known at that time in his country. Standing out for his long and liked sessions, which led him to gain the respect of the national public. Helping to build the solid foundations of what today is the Cuban techno scene. In 2022, he co-founded, together with other artists of national renown, what is today the Vórtice. The collective has become the main pillar of the national scene.

We’re back at the Lower Level and we’re here to take you on a journey. Starting us on this voyage we invite Juiced organizer/resident and Vitus resident Miz Andromeda. Miz is known for her range that incorporates hypnotic, hardgroove, analogue, and hardstyle to her sets. Leading us through the climax and ending of this sonic journey, we invite Cuban-born and Florida-based artist Åre:gone to take the reins. With over a decade of experience, the Vórtice co-founder’s sets incorporate hypnotic, groovey, and melodic sounds that embrace you on the dance floor in a way that you can’t help but lose yourself to as you’re dancing. We hope you join us on the dance floor for the voyage that these two are about to take us on.

For the second edition of the mix series we’re very excited to introduce AVATO, a project by Otto Norvio focused on modular live techno. AVATO’s sets are sculpted to preserve the spontaneity of a live performance while uncompromisingly maintaining a high driving energy. They are undoubtedly characterized by their hypnoticism, and ever-evolving textures.

Niki Bakhtiyar, aka Niqi, is an Iranian Qanun player, DJ and producer based in Boston.

Niqi’s musical journey began experimenting with the enchanting notes of the Qanun and classical piano during her childhood. Fueled by an unwavering passion for music, she immersed herself in the world of sound, attending music high school and music college in Iran. As she built her foundation in music during this time, the allure of electronic music captivated Niki, leading to a deep exploration of the genres of electronic music.

Currently, Niqi is studying Electronic music Production and Design at Berklee College of Music and also resides as an infraBoston resident.

🎧 Introducing ‘INFRA MIX’ on SoundCloud. Infra’s new mix series releases every second and fourth Monday of the month.

Starting up our mix series we have the man that started it all for Infra: Jose Zamora, also known as Xoce. This mix, which was recorded during his opening set for Oscar Mulero on May 23rd, is an amalgamation of the gritty, dark, although urban, rhythmic and forward frequencies that characterize Jose’s sound, all perfectly blended to achieve a boiling point of pure techno.

For this edition of CONTRAST by Infra, we’re inviting some special friends from out of town to join us alongside some of our residents. Headlining we have the co-label head of the VOITAX record label, Paàl returning to the decks. A recurring favorite of ours, Paàl brings a blend of 90s techno, tribal rhythms, and Detroit/Chicago sounds, transitioning seamlessly from classic rave vibes to futuristic, glitchy, and progressive beats. Our residents Annie Lew and Ketzaal step up for a b2b set. During our collaboration party with Boiler Room this past September, Annie Lew and Ketzaal’s high energy b2b brought deep, groovy bass blended with speedy and playful kicks, with elements of break beats scattered throughout the hour. We’ve also invited Bogota-based artist and Video Club resident Grosera to the decks. Grosera brings a playful and groovey energy to the decks, incorporating subtle, concise kicks with distorted scratches and high notes. Rounding out the lineup we have Buenos Aires-based artist Subject.iv, known for incorporating hypnotic sounds to his sets.

We’re looking forward to spending the day and night dancing together throughout this melodic journey.

We are thrilled to announce the release of our first VA, highlighting the prowess of our residents and friends of our community. This album is the first in a series designed to provide our residents and other artists a platform to showcase their sounds.

For the first edition of the VA series, we’ve included Eduardo De La Calle, Allan Gallego, Sploofi, Nicolò Bernardi, as well as INFRA residents Xoce, Meschwitz, Ketzaal, and Angel Attack. A common theme throughout each track is space: a thread of spacey and heady sounds ties these tracks together.

Mulero’s career as a producer is almost as extensive: with steady releases on multiple formats since the 90s. His sound is enthralling, dark, and invigorating. It’s not an exaggeration to say that few artists have been as influential to electronic dance music around the world for as long as Oscar Mulero. With Infra founder Xoce opening the portal for us, we’re in for a night that we doubt we’ll forget anytime soon.

Oscar Mulero is a Spanish electronic musician and dj who was the major influence for the Spanish electronic scene since the early 1990s and a leading exponent of underground techno since his productions in the early-2000s.

Oscar Mulero’s DJ career has been as prolific and long lasting as the evolution of dance music. As a key figure in its development, Oscar has always absorbed new trends and kept his finger on the pulse of electronic dance music, from the end of the 80’s right up to the present day. It is impossible to understand his genius without taking into account the tireless work he has carried out behind the decks for over two decades. Production-wise he’s been releasing records since the late 90’s, with countless 12” vinyls and several studio albums, as well as many remixes for the best players in the scene.

For our second ManRay residency night of the month, we’ve invited an exciting trio to the decks. Headlining we have Eerste Communie co-founder MARRØN taking over the decks. The Amsterdam-based DJ is an experimentalist at heart: his sets are speedy and sweaty, yet groovy and melodic. On the decks he often pulls from his musical roots in Afro Deep when mixing techno tracks, weaving trance-inducing snares with pulsating kicks. We’re also welcoming Aversion and HEAT resident Jayy P to decks. The Boston-based artist builds on a foundation of industrial techno with dark hypotonic sounds and heavy percussions blended into the mix when he’s on decks. Rounding out the bill is Infra resident CSILLA. If you’ve seen her the last time she played for us at ManRay or previous Infra parties, you know that her track selections and technical skills are nothing to sneeze at.

We’re in for a dark and mesmerizing journey: come early, stay late 😈
