Welcome to my page! Follow on Instagram @Cheyjonesphoto Since I was a little girl, I dreamt of my perfect day. And now, I get to capture everyone’s special day.

I am based in Midcoast Maine, an area that I have grown to truly appreciate. I love to travel, enjoy the outdoors and spend time with my two puppers. Often in life, we get so caught up in the motions that we miss special moments in time. I aim to capture these for you so that you can always hold them close and pass them on for years to come. And don’t worry if you’re shy or nervous, I will make a fool of myself if it helps you feel comfortable and cracks a smile or two!

Closing the chapter.

When I first got my camera at the end of 2019, I was riddled with fear. Scared that I’d step on toes, scared I’d be terrible, scared it was another adhd fixation and I’d get bored - just scared. But I pushed forward, I got uncomfortable; and it’s the best thing I ever did. Photography has made me a stronger person. Before sessions I’d get so extremely sick to my stomach, every-single-time. But I kept pushing myself, I kept doing them. That feeling never really went away, but weddings were actually easier for me. I think I loved all the organized chaos, and not having this feeling of needing to “fill each moment”. Weddings are always filled with noise, movement, laughter and love. I LOVE shooting weddings, truly. I even love editing my favorite shots & delivering a gallery knowing I just captured one of the most important days of their lives. But what I haven’t loved is trying to fit it in into my schedule with a full time job. Putting down my work laptop just to crack open my personal one. And god forbid you decide to enjoy a night/day, then you’re left with this looming feeling of “I should be editing” hanging over you like a shadow in a dark room. Then I had my son, and man - I thought I had no time before, now it feels close to impossible. So here it is, the moment where I close the chapter. The time of reflection and admiration. I’m so proud of myself for these past four years. I’m proud I faced my fears time and time again. I’m proud I never gave up, even when I spent so much time comparing and crying to my husband. I’m proud that I finally got to a space where I felt this feeling of pride. I’ve loved every single one of my clients, and all of those who supported and believed in me. This has been a transformative period in my life. It’s so important to push yourself - get uncomfortable. After all, if we’re not uncomfortable, we’re not growing.

The pages are flipped but the book is not closed. I hope to still have some ties to photography in some way in future - probably just family and friends for now. I want to get back to just the enjoyment and love for it. So from the bottom of my heart, to those who still are there even in my quietness - thank you.

Blakelee & James Wedding 🤍

The location and lighting 👌🏼 this was probably the best possible last wedding. I’m not sure when I’ll ever shoot a wedding again, but I’m so glad I had the ones that I did this summer. Blakelee and James were SO sweet and incredible. I fell in love with their whole family, and the deep rooted bond that they shared. I watched all day as Blakelee’s brother was a calm and helpful presence. Then during his speech, we all saw how powerful their sibling bond is. I spoke with their parents during the reception, and I told them that I’ve always said I’m “one and done”, but seeing their children truly had me rethinking everything. So beautiful. And don’t even get me started on the amazing couple!! They’re both so absolutely in love with each other, it was refreshing and heart warming. My favorite moment was stepping inside while they had their private cocktail hour treats & I found them in a corner just giggling and smiling at each other. Most beautiful perfect day!

Megan & Eben Wedding Celebration

These two got married during Covid and weren’t able to have everyone they love join them. So this year they decided to throw a celebration bash!

From first grade giggles, middle school crushing and high school lovers; to a beautiful happy marriage. They shared their first kiss at the children’s chapel, which is exactly where they said “I Do”. Swipe to see how they light up each others lives 🤍 congratulations to you both!

Zoe & Jacob Pascal 🤍🎊

This was a beautiful wedding to end the season with. Everything was perfect; the lighting in the air bnb, the weather, the venue.. and of course their beautiful family. Zoe and Jacob never cease to make everyone around them laugh, and love simply pours from their eyes. They both look at each other, and at their son like heaven walks on earth. It was nothing short of beautiful, and I’m so happy to have been a part of their day 🤍🤍

Desi & Cody Nelson 8.20.22🤍

So here’s the thing about this wedding… I’ve known Desi since I was four years old. I remember the day I walked into daycare and was immediately greeted by a little blonde girl with pink tails, a cardigan and a giant smile on her face. It was funny, because Desi liked all of the girly things that I didn’t; the girl had her own wooden swing set that was set aside at daycare for her baby dolls. But beyond the baby dolls, there was a girl who loved adventure. Over those years Desi taught me that you can like all those “girly things” and still be a total badass. We’d run around through the woods barefoot, climb over mud mountains, get chased by her brother.. being friends with Desi as a kid was nothing short of wild and fun. Here’s the best part - Desi never let that flame for fun and adventure die. I’ve watched as she met the love of her life in middle school. She found someone who loved all the things she loved and adored all that she is; the girly and the badass. Desi and Cody have been together for many seasons of life, and because of that I have no doubts that their love will last until the end of time.

Now after reading that, did you really doubt that she’d drive into her wedding ceremony in her HUSBANDS Ford Bronco? I mean in case you missed it, Desi is a f*cking badass.

CHEERS TO MANY MORE YEARS! This wedding made me more emotional than any ever before 🥹🤍

Blakelee & James 💍

I met Blakelee through a wedding I did last year, and she reached out right away to book for her own wedding day. Spending the hour during this shoot with these two felt like being with friends. They showed up immediately cracking jokes, and I’m pretty confident James had his smile tied to his ears. Their laughter and love was contagious, and made for some beautiful care free images.

So excited for their wedding next year!🤍💍

M & D WEDDING 8/06 ✨

I’m lucky to know all the couples I’m shooting weddings for this year. I’ve known Morgan & Devin for some time, and let me tell you - they both deserve the world and more. These two individually are a vision of strength, love and light. Together, they’re a powerful force in this world. They’ve built a beautiful family together, and you can see that reflected in their eyes. They look at each other like a stone house that has protected them from many storms and has filled their cup with the deepest form of love. I look at these pictures and my heart overflows. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this chapter in their lives.

Congratulations Morgan & Devin! I will certainly be sharing more images 🖤

Zoe & Andrew Fairytale Wedding 🧚🏼‍♀️

I’ve known Zoe and her family for quite awhile due to family friendships. And because of that, I know a bit about her past; which made every moment of this day even more special. Before the ceremony she did a first look with her stepdad, John; who took her and her siblings in as his own. I always knew John had a very special place in his heart for his girls, but this day really put those cards out on the table. It was such a beautiful moment.

I hadn’t actually met Andrew in person before this day, but I quickly saw the kind of man he is when his boys looked into his eyes. A man filled with love, passion and a heart that was overflowing with joy for this moment, this day - a future with Zoe; a wife and a step mother to his whole world.

And then in those moments, of just them together. The smile on Andrews face as Zoe did the “I see you” symbolization to the crowd during the “if there’s any objections” part of the ceremony. To their shared giggles and tears. It was just so clear how in love they truly were.

And oh boy, let’s fast forward to the reception. Why’d y’all have to make us cry like that?? The father daughter dance had us ALL in tears - to the point where I thought mama Jill was going to pass out. Emotion filled the room, and then Zoe had a surprise up her sleeve. She invited her mom, Jill, to dance. Man the tears just kept flowing, the bond was radiant. And Andrew and his mom both tearing up as they shared a dance.. I mean cmon, were you trying to kill me!!?? There’s nothing like turning around to see so many faces feeling all the same emotions at the same time. It’s powerful, really.

All this to say - what a perfect day. I wish absolutely nothing but the best for you both. Congratulations Mr & Mrs. Monroe!!!

CAMDEN LOVE STORY.. part 2💍⛵️

I couldn’t wait any longer!! If you want to see the whole story, make sure to check out my last post (you don’t want to miss it).

Bella & Jordan had their ceremony onboard the in Camden, ME. The weather started to drizzle during the portraits beforehand, so we got a bit nervous for the ceremony. But the weather turned out perfectly overcast with hints of sunshine. Everything went so beautifully.

Congratulations again Mr. & Mrs. Tyler💍 wishing you a lifetime of happiness!

CAMDEN MAINE LOVE STORY…

PART 1

Bella & Jordan grew up together right here in the heart of Camden. They were young lovers in middle school, and each shared their first kiss together on these very library steps. Life took them in different directions, but all those sayings like “if it’s meant to be, it will be” and “if it’s truly yours, it’ll come back to you” ring true. For just a glimpse of how in sync these two are - their vows started the exact same way. Telling the story of how they rekindled their love over a dinner during a snow storm years ago. In Bella’s words, “it was inevitable that I could no longer live without you”.

I can’t even express how incredibly beautiful it was to see Bella & Jordan share a kiss as newly weds in the exact spot they once shared their first kiss. Their wedding took us on a beautiful journey onboard & was absolutely filled to the brim with smiles, laughs, tears and love.

Congratulations Bella & Jordan; cheers to your first kiss being your last🖤💍

PART 2 coming soon…

ACADIA PROPOSAL STORY💍

Albert reached out to me awhile back saying him & his now fiancé, Victoria, are from California but planning to visit Acadia at the end of September. He told me that she went to school in New England & fell in love with our scenery. She loves trees (I learned later that she REALLY loves trees) and even more so, autumn trees. Albert said that he wanted to secretly propose to her in Acadia and was hoping I could capture the moment. I immediately took PTO from work and jumped at the opportunity. We devised a plan to hike North Bubble & id pretend to take photos of my friend, while he pretended to take photos of Victoria looking out upon Jordan Pond.

The plan went PERFECTLY! She immediately responded with “OMG. OMG. WHAT. I’m gonna kill you!” Which those of us in love, know means, I love you. My knees were literally shaking more than I think Albert’s were, I can’t even explain the anticipation and excitement.

The second I met Victoria I knew why Albert’s eyes lit up when he spoke of her over our zoom call. She’s not only absolutely beautiful, but her humorous and bubbly personality shined above all. Fast forward to getting back to the parking lot to start our engagement photo journey, Victoria had no idea that Albert had another surprise up his sleeve. In the parking lot she was met by her best friend from college & at that point I’m not sure if there were words as much as squeals of excitement. Albert did it again!!

This proposal couldn’t have gone more perfectly. We kept the fun going by doing some engagement photos throughout Acadia, and I can’t WAIT to share them with you all!

Congratulations Victoria & Albert!! 🍾

Aubrey & Tim Engagement 🖤

AKA - my sister & future brother in law🥺

On Saturday we had my sisters dress appointment, followed by lunch & their engagement session. This day was filled with so many emotions. When I saw her in her dress, I lost it. I wasn’t sure if I’d cry, but in that moment it was like life was flashing before my eyes. It felt like just yesterday that she was dressing me up in choker necklaces & showing me her favorite rock albums. She didn’t know it, but I looked up to her so much over the years. This girl has two master degrees and still had time to find the love of her life??? Im so beyond happy for you, Sissy. And I couldn’t have picked a better husband for you. Tim makes me laugh every time I see him, and nobody appreciates my badly timed jokes like he does. Watching you both look into each others eyes, I knew your love would last a life time. I love you both, and I can’t wait for your wedding next year… I’ll be the one crying all day🙋🏼‍♀️

Anne & Brandon St Michel✨☂️

I started out the day before a little nervous with the weather. I decided to order some clear umbrellas for pickup at Target just in case! But talking to Anne, I felt relieved by her calmness & positivity. The whole wedding day couldn’t have gone more perfectly. Her family had everyone cracking up all morning, her precious father daughter first look, helping the best man tie a bow tie for an hour (I guess we all need practice on that one!), seeing Brandon’s eyes tear up as his beautiful Bride walked down the isle.. I could go on and on. The downpour started 5 minutes after we all got inside for the reception; talk about perfect timing?! I snuck up to Anne & Brandon after dinner and asked if they’d be open to going out on the dock for some photos, knowing that it was drizzling out so I wasn’t going to force them. Anne literally dropped her fork and said “IM READY!”. I’m so grateful to have captured this day. I love the love that you both have, it shined through every second of the day. Congratulations to you both, and may you have a long & beautiful marriage🖤

I’d also like to give a special shout-out to the amazing vendors!
Venue: The Village Inn the venue owner absolutely blew me away. Not only is this venue perfection (sunset BEHIND the ceremony spot, amazing!), but the owner & staff were the most helpful, respectful & kind people I’ve ever worked with. Could not recommend them enough!
Floral: Berry & Berry Floral - absolutely stunning floral designs!

I can’t even begin to explain how fun this engagement session was. Zoe & Jacob showed up a couple shots in and ready to do whatever it took. They were so lively and fun right from the start, which made it so easy to capture some real and beautiful moments. These two together are hilarious and so very clearly in love. So excited to capture your wedding next year, congratulations Zoe & Jacob!!🖤🍾
