Why is it that those of us with XY s*x chromosomes (biologically male) are more likely to develop melanoma than others? Why is this true with a range of various cancers?

At Coriell, Dr. Nora Engel and her team investigate the s*x-based risk factors for developing melanoma and what they learn could inform what we know about s*x biases in other diseases.

The Epigenetic Therapies SPORE offers two $50,000 grants through its Career Enhancement and Developmental Research programs to scientists interested in the epigenetics of cancer.

These grants are open to applicants from all organizations and pre-proposals will be accepted through March 15.
