It's always awesome when we can recognize a staff member who has been such a part of the ministry. Sandra Taylor has served at our Cameron Boys Camp for 30 years -- the boys and staff members celebrated her on Thursday. We are thankful for Sandra for her faithful service. God has blessed us with among the best staff members. If you are interested in being a part of the ministry, check out www.bchcareers.org
It was an incredible evening at Cameron Boys Camp as the boys, staff, chiefs (mentors/teachers), and Camp friends gathering for our annual Thanksgiving meal. Also known as "Turkey in the Hole", the boys literally dig a huge hole, bury the tin-foil wrapped turkeys in the ground, collect the wood and create a huge bonfire that cooks the turkeys to perfection. We are proud of the boys' accomplishments this season and thankful to share this special evening with friends who are such an encouragement to us and our 24/7 year-round wilderness ministry.
Please join us for an evening of food and fellowship as we celebrate the end of a great session with skits, singing, and delicious food.
This event is totally FREE!!!
Call the office at 910.245.4034 to reserve a seat.
Just a reminder to come and join us at Camp for Homecoming on October 21. If you haven't already, please RSVP by Monday, October 16 at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1OWnEJ1IIeDpEVaa6MKIyQu8ATQ5qegpuhbRw8NSoTvQ/edit?fbclid=IwAR0EANa2NLMap-GUB5BMrMFCfxxAVknAeiMWU8hgGTvjTwggYP9bm2NLoIw
We can't wait to see you!
It's amazing to see the skills the boys are learning in the middle of the woods with the help of their incredible caregivers/counselors/teachers known as "chiefs." Check out the pizza they made at the Cook Tent. We are still in need of chiefs at both the boys and girls camps. Please spread the word! www.campcareers.org
Obituary information for Francis "Paul" Daley View Francis "Paul" Daley's obituary, contribute to their memorial, see their funeral service details, and more.
It is with full hearts that we convey that Chief Paul Daley went to be with his Creator, Savior, and Friend on Sunday, July 9th. He was at home and with family. Our hearts are full of Joy because of a life well lived, wholeness experienced today, gratitude for the opportunity to have known and been led by such a man. Our hearts are full of sadness because we will miss his wit and wisdom, his stories, attitude, kindness, love for Jesus and others. He is an example of a faithfulness in life and in death. We are saddened because we will be without a father, husband and friend. Our Chief is on a new adventure. We are full of Joy because he lived to show us how awesome Jesus is and that with all of the stories and memories that we will share, we know that he wanted nothing more for us than to trust God and follow him. There will be a service at 2:00 PM at First Baptist in Southern Pines this Sunday, July 16th. We will continue to update details, link the obituary and the service details. We ask that you please be thoughtful about all that the family has to do during this time and know that they look forward to seeing you at the service. Please share memories and use the hashtag . Thank you so much for your support and thoughts. Chief Paul is a great man and had a tremendous impact an so many.
We are so excited to honor “Chief Paul” through the dedication of the new Daley Farmhouse. We love you, Chief!

Take an inside look at one of our most amazing ministries -- Cameron Boys Camp! It's not a summer camp but instead a year-round, 24/7 residential wilderness program/school where we have the privilege of seeing boys' lives transformed! The Christ-centered ministry does not happen without our counselors/teachers known as "Chiefs." We need chiefs both at Cameron as well as Camp Duncan for girls. Please share this need and learn more about this career opportunity in ministry at www.campcareers.org.
Merry Christmas Everyone! Wanted to update you that Chief Paul is doing well and continuing to improve. He is gaining strength and is up to some of his old shenanigans. He has been carving and sang with the Boys when they came by for caroling. We also wanted to share this slideshow created by his daughter Bethany that highlights his amazing life. It's a great inspiration and challenge for us to live this life for others.

“Many of you know Chief Paul Daley. He came to Cameron Boys Camp in 1982, was the Director there from 1989-2009 and then the Director at Camp Duncan from 2009-2019.
Chief Paul is my Dad and when talking to Chief Drew recently, he mentioned that many of you, who know Chief Paul, may not know what he is going through right now and that you might appreciate knowing so that you can be praying for him.
Chief Paul was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer in November of 2021. Upon diagnosis, we were told there was no cure, but that he could receive supportive treatment. This was a tough diagnosis for our family as my oldest sister died from brain cancer in 2017.
Nonetheless, we know God is in control and cares deeply for us even during the difficult times. In true Chief Paul fashion, Dad continues to rely on the Lord each day and remind each of us in our family to do the same.
Dad has been receiving care locally and also at Chapel Hill. He has had many ups and downs since November, including a long hospital stay that occurred recently from which he is still recovering from. He is currently about to complete the second round of the second chemo treatment they have tried. The most recent biopsy in August showed that things are still the same as they were upon diagnosis. We are grateful the cancer has not worsened yet and we pray this current round of treatment will help him make some improvements.
If you would like to pray for Chief Paul, here are some specific prayer requests:
- Please pray for good days for Chief Paul. Pray for increased energy, strength, and for healing upon his body. Pray for improvements in the many of the symptoms that he is experiencing. Pray he will soon be able to have enough energy to do some things he enjoys.
- Pray for the doctors and nurses who care for Chief Paul. Pray they would make the best decisions for Chief Paul’s health and well being.
- Please pray for Lisa (Chief Paul’s wife) as she cares for him and takes him to many appointments. Pray that she would be strengthened and comforted during this time. Pray for God’s direction in the health decisions ahead.
- Pray that Chief Paul would be protected from any infection, fever, and from having to go to the hospital again.
- Pray for Chief Paul and our family to be at peace with whatever comes in the future and that we could be a source of encouragement to him. Pray we would all make the most of the time we have together.
We are so grateful for the many people who have reached out to our family and prayed faithfully for Dad during this time. If you want to send a message, or note of encouragement, or special memory to Chief Paul, feel free to email him at [email protected].
Thank you,
Bethany Daley Saburro”
The Rangers had a busy session that included building their shower tent, planning their long canoe trip for next session, and the highly competitive fishing contest! Winners from both the staff and the group were recognized at Party Night. 🎣🏆
The Rangers watched the release of 3 red shouldered hawks and 2 barred owls from Holly's Nest Animal Rescue Inc.
These birds will have a fantastic new home at the camp and the boys enjoyed learning about and seeing these magnificent birds of prey up close and personal!

Holly’s Nest Animal Rescue released two juvenile bobcats last weekend at the camp. The sibling duo, named “Bonnie and Clyde” were raised by the rescue after their mother was killed by a hunter.
Bonnie and Clyde were released at Big Sams where they will be able to live as they should without human contact.
The Rangers got to watch the bobcats’ return to the wild and learn about these fascinating and elusive creatures!
