Unfortunately these pictures are at the same location just over a week apart. Yesterday morning our neighboring building and multiple business were damaged in a terrible fire. Wishing “El Cielo” Bar y Grill and all of those affected a smooth recovery and rebuild process.

Ugh, this thing is tough! Can’t wait to see it fully finished. 1972 K/5 Blazer getting some new forged wheels and the suspension dialed in. Then headed back to to wrap up the interior and for the finishing touches.

You never know what life has in store for you. Building this Honda Civic Lowrider as a teenager in the 90’s opened up the opportunity for me to sell Roadster Wire Wheels which over the years evolved into the business California Wheels is today.

California Wheels started out of “The Trunk” of this Mercury Marquis in 1996 selling Wire Wheels by placing adds to a pager number in the Diablo Dealer, Bay Classified, and Mercury News.

After getting burned a couple times and robbed with a gun to my head, I was able to save up enough money to open a smaller location on Alum Rock and Capitol Avenue in East San Jose in 1998. It’s since expanded to take over the business on either side of the original space, and we’re still here to this day 26-28 years later.

We started off selling wire wheels and hydraulic parts up front and rented the garage to my Old School homie .quenga Clark Quenga in the back for installations and building Lowriders. One of my first solid customers even out the trunk was an exchange student from Japan named Taka who would export wire wheels, Ben Davis, Dickies, and Levi’s back to Japan. As our business relationship grew we’d build him custom ordered Low Riders to export to his connection SouthSide Imports back in Japan.

We had a lot of good times, and memories from 90’s-2000’s having Parliament Car Club meetings, building cars, the first King of the Streets, and I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends this Sunday at the next this Sunday August 25th out front of SAP Arena.

The green Cadillac is .quenga personal car that was featured in Low Rider Magazine.

Lowriding and Cruising are the foundation of San Jose car culture. Along with Lowriding comes Hydraulics and with hydraulics comes Hopping. 25 years ago in 1999 we had a Hydraulic Hop Contest at our Eastside San Jose store on Alum Rock and Capitol called
“King of the Streets”.

Well some veterans in the Lowrider scene have gotten together to bring back “King of the Streets” and have organized a Big City permitted with Police presence Hop Contest in the streets in front of the San Jose Arena. This will be a family event and fun for all ages to witness.

It’s going down, up and side to side this Sunday August 25th 11am-4pm with the street blocked off by the City and the Police in front of the San Jose Arena.

Refreshing to see some American Muscle on the greens at Pebble Beach Concourse. This is the upcoming Ford Mustang GTD which might as well stand for GoTT Damn in my opinion.

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is expected to cost between $300,000 and $325,000, making it the most expensive Mustang in the company’s 60-year history. The limited-production car is named after IMSA’s GTD (Grand Touring Daytona) racing class and is expected to be available in late 2024 or early 2025.

The GTD will have a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine with over 800 horsepower, a rear-mounted eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle, and a body with carbon fiber panels, a vented hood, and vented fenders. Ford is using an application process to w**d out people who might buy the car to flip for a profit, and some say applicants should have at least $325,000 saved up.
