Canon-McMillan Middle School celebrated its 4th redesignation as a Don Eichhorn “Schools to Watch” today! The students, faculty, and administration were acknowledged by State and Local Representstives, School Board Members, Mr. Bruce Vosburg-PA STW State Team Director, and Mr. Bill Kuban-Horace Mann Co., STW Partner.🌟Ceremonies were opened by the CMMS Choir representatives singing the National Anthem, and celebrated with the CMMS Jazz Band playing “Dawn of the Chilli Pepper”🎶

CMS was initially designated as a School to Watch in 2011. Redesignation status occurred in 2014, 2017, and 2020. Due to construction of CMMS, this redesignation did not occur until the fall of 2023, with this being for 2024-2027. Recognition of this kind is part of a national program developed by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform.

Congratulations to Mrs. Dennick for being named the Texas Roadhouse-Washington’s Teacher of the Month!🌎🤠Mrs. Dennick is the Sonic Boom Social Studies teacher and our Dean of Students. It’s great to see her recognized for all she does at CMMS!

The last day of school for students will be May 31, 2024.🎓

The cancellation on April 12 due to major flooding and road closures will not have to be made up. The school calendar has a built in day for emergencies.

The Knight’s Language Arts classes presented their “Book in a Box” projects this week. Each student filled the box with objects that represented different story elements. Very creative! 📚📦

The first musical at CMMS: High School Musical 2, Jr.🏖️ The cast and crew have been working all winter to perform and what better way than in our brand new auditorium! Tickets will be available at the door! 🎟️🎬
