Did you know that your temporomandibular joint (more commonly known as your TMJ, or jaw joint) can't actually move on its own? The muscles attached to the joint are what create the movement. This is why problems with these muscles can lead to TMJ disorders.
Are mouthwashes effective? While not a replacement for brushing and flossing, mouthwashes have been proven to reduce bacteria that can lead to oral problems. In addition, they can be an effective alternative during times when brushing is not possible.
Did you know raw onions are good for your teeth? Studies have shown that the antibacterial sulfur compound in onions kills many types of bacteria. Onions are one of World Dental’s top foods for teeth.
Are you pre-diabetic or diabetic? Then you're at a greater risk for gum disease. To combat it, focus on proper oral hygiene, have regular dental checkups, and watch what you eat to help keep your teeth healthy.
Do you have a dental phobia? Current research shows that cognitive behavior therapy can help those with this condition overcome their fear so that they can receive the dental care they need.
