for today is #22 Brayden Nuckolls! Brayden is an old school hard-nosed linebacker. He plays much bigger than his height and makes plays sideline to sideline vs the run and the pass. He is a great field general and directs traffic from his middle linebacker position. He is respected by his coaches and teammates, his passion for football is appreciated by all.

Today’s is on #17 Jordan Brown Westbrook. Jordan has an infectious personality that resonates in the locker room. Jordan loves to compete and try to win in any setting. He is a hard worker, very coachable, and has grown as a player during his time at Cherokee. He has had a good start to his senior season and we are excited to see him continue to progress!

Next up for our first of the week is #10 Brayden Satterfield! Brayden is the consummate teammate that is willing to do anything that is asked of him. He has a tremendous work ethic on the practice field and in the weight room. He is constantly encouraging his teammates to be the best version of themselves. We cannot wait to get him back out under the lights here soon!

The Warriors have kicked off against Pope! Let’s Go Warriors!

The pregame festivities were something special tonight! The rain didn’t stop the or our chance to recognize the Ralph Bunche alumni!

It’s GAME DAY! We are back at Tommy Baker tonight taking on the Pope Greyhounds. Come out and cheer your Warriors to victory!

⚪️ Main Gate opens at 5:30, Touchdown Club Gate opens at 6:00
🔴 Warrior Walk at 5:55
🏈 Kickoff at 7:30

Tonight we will also recognize alumni from Ralph Bunche as part of our pregame festivities.

This Thursday’s is on #11 Malakiah Echols. Malakiah started out as a RB but has successfully made the transition to playing WR and DB. He has incredible vision as a ball carrier and knows how to attack the ball in the air. He’s played a ton of snaps for Cherokee and we will rely on his veteran leadership this season.

Jayce Carson is a player who flies around the field with incredible speed and athleticism. When an impact play has been made on defense, we know Jayce was involved somehow. You can tell he loves playing football and he loves to compete. He is a guy who practices just as hard as he plays.

on #6 Charlie Dahlen! Charlie has worked extremely hard to grow into a productive player on both sides of the ball. His length is an asset on the line of scrimmage both as a blocker in the run game and as an edge rusher. He also has sneaky good hands in the pass game. Chuck has a knack for making important plays in key moments.

One of our 2024 Captain’s is our next ! #5 Wide Receiver Israel “Izzy” Conway has unbelievable work ethic. He approaches every day with a sense of purpose and mindset to get better. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win. Izzy is another one of our seniors who is going to be another two way impact player.

Our for today is #1 Jayce Jones! Described by Coaches as “lightening in a 5’9” frame” Jones might have the highest football IQ in the program. He just sees space and understands where he needs to be. He has the athleticism to make plays and never seems to get tired and can just go and go and go. Jayce always has a smile on his face.

First up for this week is Tight End, #3 Wyatt Tash. Tash is a throwback, do it all, slobber-knocker of a football player. He has consistent effort in the weight room, on the practice field and in games that has put him in the position to be a leader for the team on both sides of the ball.

Game day in Tommy Baker! Everyone please, please buy tickets and parking early to make your night more enjoyable. Come early, and enjoy a tremendous night of high school football. CYFA will be honored at 630. Players, coaches, and team mom will meet at the practice field and start walking up at 615. Kickoff for the game is 730

Game day is getting closer ⏰ We have loved all of our this week! All three of our seniors highlighted this week are leaders and tone setters in the weight room.

For today’s we have #24 Christian Irwin. Christian is tough and physical. He’s been a big part of the offense and is now being counted on to contribute on the defensive side as well. Christian is selfless and consistent in how approaches the game of football.

Our next is on #4 - Gracen Sexton!

Gracen is a fantastic teammate. He is willing to do whatever is necessary in order for his team to be successful. He will be an impact player on both sides of the football this season checking in at both Wide Receiver and Outside Linebacker.
