Hello from the future Beckett Designs HQ! (AKA my future home office) 👋🏻🤗

As someone whose art is primarily on my computer, I do most of it from my living room couch & my office is my computer bag. 🛋️ As a mom, all of the spaces that were once mine are now THEIRS. One of the things I am most excited about for our future home is this space. It’s all mine. I got to design how I wanted everything. 😬👏🏼 She is tiny but she is mighty & I can’t wait for all the pretty things that will come out of this room! Maybe since I finally will have my own space I will be able to get back to some of the other art forms I haven’t touched since college! ✍️🎨

There’s really no point to this post other than to share my excitement for this space & to ask for prayers for this space & all the good I want to come out of it. Even though it’s my space, it’s HIS space & it’s your space. 🖤

Tomorrow is October 1st but in the small business world, that means we’ve already started on Christmas! 🙃🎅🏻

Women of Strength 2024 may be over but the fun never stops! I’ll share a little bit at a time but today is about the little design choices that most people probably don’t even notice. This is the 4th time I have changed the design of the term “Women of Strength” & isn’t that just the perfect metaphor for how we, as women, are so multifaceted that our strength looks different each day?!

4 years of hearing these life changing stories from these incredibly strong women! Damn, women are so cool & God is so good! 🖤

Girl Period 🩸

I am so excited to share the branding I created for a new nonprofit coming soon called, Girl Period. Its mission is to empower, educate, & communicate with young girls about their menstrual cycles.

I’m excited about the promise of this for my girls because the education girls get on their cycles is currently nonexistent. This is a big step in the right direction! 🩷

It will NEVER get old seeing something I designed out in the wild! 👀

This logo was one I did a few years ago for a small business & people I’ve never met. I got so excited when I saw their truck drive right past me a few days ago! 🥰

I don’t really advertise or offer birthday invites anymore (there are so SO many amazing invitation options on Etsy these days) but when I do, it’s for my bad ass God Daughter! 😎✌🏽🩷

This is the most creative theme for a second birthday I’ve ever seen so I had to pull out all the stops for her! 💀 SWIPE for a detail shot! 🤗

Double fi***ng coffees on a Saturday morning 😎 as one does when she has talented & generous friends who feed her delicious & decadent treats for no good reason! 😉bakingco 😘

A dose of reality for your Monday:
- I’ve struggled all summer to find a balance in my work/home life
- My kids probably spend too much time on a screen in order for my work to get done
- My home is in a constant state of disarray
- I’m counting down the seconds until school starts just so I can workwithout children screaming
- I’ve second guessed every single design I’ve sent out
- I rely heavily on freezer chicken nuggets for nutrition
- I’ve thought about quitting at least once a month
- I find it incredibly hard to be present for my children AND creative enough for my business

The Instagram highlight reel is super nice. A welcomed distraction even. If you are also struggling to show up here because you feel like an imposter, you aren’t alone. I also VERY often feel like an imposter. I will, however, not allow that to stop me. Maybe we should normalize sharing a few of the fails/bumps & bruises along the way…. 🤔

🚨 Designers, I need your help!

The first picture is our main living space in the new house. I don’t have a clear vision of what I want this space to look like so I’ll take all the opinions I can get! We do lean super modern as far as our tastes are concerned. I keep saying “cozy modern”. Idk if that’s a thing but that’s what I’m going for 🤷🏽‍♀️

💙 As you can see, the main living space is all open. I included the flooring choose as well as some inspo pictures we like. I’m thinking light walls is the only thing that makes sense. We have a black fluted entry table & black light fixtures. Dark accent on the fireplace & possibly dark bar stools (included picture is one we liked but haven’t purchased). The couch at the bottom is one we liked but thought the color was too orange in person.

💙 I need help with what furniture (& what color) we should do in the living space.
