Jason and Alison Hancock - thank you for all you do!
Today we say farewell to Administrative Assistant Kourtney Hill. She has been with the agency for nearly 14 years and has been a key support for all Project KARE activities over the past several years - working behind the scenes and always helping wherever and whenever needed. She is one of those people that saw what needed to be done and just did it. Kourtney - you will be missed. Thank you for all your support - you truly made a difference to so many children in Stark County. We wish you all the best in your next adventure!

This week, we celebrated four incredible high school graduates during our annual Rising Up… Moving On (RUMO) event at Dave & Buster's. Youth, along with their friends and family, were treated to a fun afternoon playing games, socializing, and enjoying a catered lunch. They also received many gifts to prepare them for the next steps of their journey. This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Thank you to Adams Angels 912, Jerry Coleman, Brian Kandel, Susan Lenigar, Edward Marino, Jaqui Petro, Kathy Savage, Andrea Scassa, Rae Ann Swinehart, and Maggie Paul’s Unit (Recruitment, Licensing, & WWK).
A great time was had by all during the Children's Toy Fund, Inc. event at the Hall of Fame Village Build-A-Bear Workshop! Children participating in the Be a Friend Program had the opportunity to build two stuffed friends – one to keep and one to donate to a child being cared for at Akron Children's. A very special thank you to Ashley Natale and her staff for organizing the event, and all the workers, volunteers, families, and businesses who helped make it an unforgettable day for everyone in attendance, including Build-A-Bear Workshop, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Smoosh Cookies Canton Ohio, The Pizza Oven, Heggy's Nut Shop, and Andy Armadillo from Texas Roadhouse. Our annual Rising Up… Moving On (RUMO) will take place in June to celebrate several foster youth graduating from high school! Project KARE invites you to show your support for the graduates and help set them up for self-sufficiency by becoming an event sponsor. Sponsors will be acknowledged on social media and their name will be included in materials given to the graduates. This year, the RUMO celebration will be held at Dave & Buster’s Arcade and Restaurant, located inside Belden Village Mall. The graduates have requested that there be no formal luncheon or reception. Instead, they plan to spend a casual afternoon playing arcade games with close friends and families.
