Our photo contest winner for January is David Miller. David has been with North Cherokee Electrical since February 2014 and serves as our lead sign foreman. David was hired after NCE was low bidder on their first prime GDOT signing and structure project. David brought the project in on time and under budget. Having been in the signing industry many years he is well versed in managing time, equipment and employees to do the task at hand. Daniel Alvarado and Baldemar Avalos are on David’s team and appreciate the way that he trains them and allows them to operate equipment, set-up foundations and all it takes to build a job. Recent employees working with David have expressed the same sentiments.
These pictures were taken in Cobb County at the SB I-285 off-ramp at Cobb Parkway. The picture of the foundation is for the left leg of the sign structure. A new structure and new signs were required when the off-ramp leading to the new Braves stadium was widened. The old structure and signs were removed right before the new structure was erected. As you can see on the right side of the picture the old uprights and truss with signs are laying on the ground ready to be hauled off of the project. David operated our company crane to make the installation. NCE is proud to have David on our team.
Congratulations David.
Our photo contest winner for October is Ty O'Mara. Ty has been with North Cherokee Electrical since 2013 and serves as one of our Traffic Signal Foremen. Ty has established an upstanding reputation in his 18 years in the traffic signal business. NCE is proud to have him on our team. This picture was taken in Forsyth County at the intersection of Kelly Mill @ Chamblee Gap. Ty’s boss, Freddie Cronan is impressed with how the men are working to get accuracy with the pole height and pole alignment. Congratulations Ty.

He has recently been working on one of our large GDOT projects in Lumpkin, Union, Towns and White counties where we have installed traffic signals at 19 intersections. In the mountains of Union and Towns counties we encountered rock boulders when drilling the pole foundations. This picture was taken at the intersection of SR 515 and Young Harris Street in Young Harris. Seamon Construction out of Aiken SC is using their pressure digger to drill through the rock. Congratulations Shannon.
Leading into the cemetary there were two NCE bucket trucks presenting the American Flag in honor of the founder of NCE Doyle Jordan,
