At Blue Hill Montessori School, we honor the potential in every child, nurturing a child's individual spirit to reveal itself through hands on exploration thereby creating a strong foundation for your child's life. It is intended to help new families learn about the school, alumni and former parents stay in touch with the school, and promote community interaction.
The Blue Hill Montessori School is seeking a creative and adaptable Lead Children's House Teacher.
The ideal candidate will guide the children's activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach his or her fullest potential in accordance with Montessori philosophy. The Lead Teacher is responsible for preparing a quality Montessori learning environment for children ages three through six years; ensuring the physical and social/emotional safety and well-being of the children at all times; caring for and maintaining classroom materials and furnishings; guiding and supporting the Assistant Teacher in his/her duties; educating families about the Montessori method; participating in classroom specific and school-wide events; adhering to all MA EEC and AMS regulations and guidelines; attending and participating in staff meetings; communicating and collaborating with colleagues; documenting children's progress and communicating this information, verbally and in writing, to families; and continuing professional development.
-AMS/AMI and MA EEC Preschool Lead Teacher certifications are required.
-A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, Early Childhood Education is preferred.

I'm sharing a link I thought you may be interested in. Dr. Nancy Carlsson-Paige is hosting a free webinar on 11/5 at 7:30pm regarding the effects of technology with young children. If you have never heard her speak or read any of her books or publications and are interested in this topic, I highly recommend doing so. "The Children’s Screen Time Action Network is a coalition of practitioners, educators, and advocates working to promote a healthy childhood by reducing the amount of time kids spend with digital devices. The Network is a project of Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood."
