Dynamic Duo Custom Painting

Yesterday I began a new journey and officially became the newest member of the Horizon Painting & Renovations team as the NE Ohio Branch Manager! I’ll be hanging up my paint brushes but not leaving the paint and construction world as I help expand the Horizon brand to Ohio! I’m proud to be part of a company that has high expectations of themselves, as that’s the quality I’ve tried to offer my Dynamic Duo clients! First picture is the before (from real estate listing). The bold blue was super fun but the paint was chipping and things about the layout didn’t work for the homeowner so we got to be a part of her major overhaul! Paint color is a custom match to the new Kitchen Aid oven which is the 100 year anniversary color! As luck would have it, the homeowner also got the matching mixer which I took to the paint store, and with the help of my buds at Sherwin Williams, we got an amazingly close color match! The homeowner decided to make the coffee bar it’s own area with white cabinets, and some of the cabinets removed from the adjoining living room to create the pass through peninsula were relocated to the foyer and given a fresh coat of white and new hardware.

Wrapped up our last part of this project yesterday! New green kitchen walls and island, simple and relaxing mural (dark green is still wet in the photos), and living room got a fresh coat of white on the walls, trim and ceiling! The homeowner gets new carpet tomorrow to finish off the space!

Standard basement ceiling now has a modern, matte black finish! New wall paint and floors coming soon from the homeowner to give them a new space!

Haven’t posted in a while but we’ve been hard at work! Most of the work we do currently is new construction/renovation interior paint but every now and then we still get to do something extra fun! Lil guy wanted Pokémon but kids outgrow characters quickly so a simple wall for the win!

This was a tag team effort between the investor and our team! We focused on the refinishing the cabinet doors while she took on the frames and everything else to turn this kitchen into a showstopper!! Link to the listing is in the comments.

If this door doesn’t spark joy, I don’t know what will! Repaired peeling paint on the frame, cleaned and sanded the wood for the best adhesion of primer and paint. New handle and lock to come!

Big news for the Dynamic Duo: we are moving to Ohio! We’ve been working hard the last few months to get our house ready for the market, buying a new house, and still working on beautiful projects for our clients! Here are some pics from a recent foyer project!

What a way to be welcomed home! This door enters from the garage into the laundry room and if we all must do laundry, then at least it should be a room that is cheery! This quote fits these homeowners perfectly!

A subtle faux finish for this ceiling that transitions between the kitchen and dining room! 💕

Same design as the last post but different colors change it up!! We have one more powder room stencil project scheduled for January and then will officially be retiring powder room stenciling.... so if you have a bathroom done by the Dynamic Duo consider it a collectors item! 😂

Simple little wall, right? Bathrooms always keep it interesting! Aside from the tight space, a toilet to work around and gravity as the wall curves into ceiling, the stencil tape did not want to stick to the wall so I had a stencil on my head until a fairy delivered thumbtacks! After that it was smooth sailing. Love love love the pop of purple! Last picture shows the counter top which also has purple hints!

Want to make your kitchen feel bigger and brighter?? Try paint! What a difference! These clients updated appliances and the backsplash and we neutralized the kitchen paint to tie all the things together. Ebony antique lines, SW Navajo main cabinets and SW Urbane Bronze for the island. Urbane bronze is perfect if you have creams and brown tones but want to bring a gray hue into the room as it’s a mix of charcoal, brown and black! ❤️

Big walls need big ideas! These clients found inspiration on Pinterest and I made it work for their home! Crazy how the wall feels so empty in the before picture! Enjoy the work in progress pictures also.

With walls recently painted BM Sea Pearl, this homeowner’s 2 mirrors felt dirty in contrast to the fresh white so I gave them a little paint love to tone down their yellowish vibe and bring out more of a natural wood look. Now the mirrors are ready for the holiday!

The power of paint! These homeowners kept saying how much bigger their kitchen looks now with the lighter paint. SW Navaho white cabinets to match their existing house trim color. Antique lines added to give the cabinets a little extra polish! Scroll to the end to see the before and after of the nearby powder room too!

Y’all!!!! I’ll be the first to admit I was apprehensive about painting on the back of a garage door... it’s metal and there are all the metal hinge thingys- def not an even surface... however, I am so glad the homeowner added this twist because it turned out so cool! Rugged and industrial ✅ Plus I got to learn about the Union Jack flag! Check out the last picture to see how the flag is designed.
*I called in help from my friend, Darren, to draw the design to scale. Always handy to have an engineer that can put a design into Autocad so that it’s proportions are spot on! Thanks, D!

A client came to us a few months ago with a simple picture of a tree she wanted on a large scale for her dining room. Brent sketched it with charcoal- he painstakingly thought about every squiggle in this tree and it turned out lovely!

This kitchen isn’t finished (obviously) but I’m seriously obsessed with this island color! Can’t wait for the reveal!

Fresh cabinet paint and bye-bye beige walls and ceiling! Whole new space! This soft white has a hint of gray undertone which works so much better than the before cabinets! 💕 We carried this gray throughout the main living room and halls. Feels like a new house!
