Delta personnel play a good role as volunteers at Georgia National. Those same volunteers would like to invite people to their Veterans Day Celebration. Open to the Public with valid government ID. This year the focus is on Korean and Vietnam War Veterans. More details in the comments.
We get asked this Question a lot so hopefully this helps.
Please Do Not comment with any political comments. JUST REMEMBER OUR FALLEN!
The Council would like to give a update on numbers. Several people have asked in the past how many Veterans/Dependents are interred at GNC.
As of 31 July 2024 there are 32,818 interred with a marker count of 25,646.
It is our Honor to help take care of these laid to rest here and assist the families in what ways we can.
The Wreaths Across America event is approaching. With so many laid to rest at GNC help is always needed to raise funds to support the event.
If you can please help Us with this need.

A member of the GNCAC had the Honor and privilege to es**rt WWII Veterans back to Normandy for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. We just wanted to share a few pictures for our many followers. We visited and attended many locations and Ceremonies including the American Cemetery at Omaha, Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Pegasus Bridge, and the International ceremony. Please enjoy these pictures and if you get the opportunity it is a humbling area to visit.
Just a important reminder of the sacrifice made for freedom.
Thank you again for the help placing the Flags. We need help again Saturday at 10am. No shuttle services. Please just find a section that needs help. Please no parking on the non-paved surfaces ( all tires). This is weather permitting.
Stay tuned incase it changes due to weather. Section leaders will be in the sections to guide everyone. Please do not start picking up flags before it has been verified they are dry. They will be packed into totes provided so if they are wet they will mildew

Our 2023 WAA wreath day went very well. Many families indicated their approval of the 2-day event with a separate “family“ day. Our intention going forward, is to keep this option as a permanent part of our WAA celebration annually. The only draw-back is we cannot start the program until all interments on Friday have been honored out of respect to the Veterans and their loved ones. “Remember Honor and Teach." There were a couple of logistical problems at our remote parking area, and they have been easily resolved. Carpooling and the use of remote parking continue to be your most direct impact on the parking situation at GNC. On family day, the one issue we had was some family members arriving and having to wait sometimes hours for other family members to arrive causing congestion around the cemetery. A recommendation would be to gather off-site (shoppimg center or movie theater) and then carpooling with all family members. These observations are not requirements but simply suggestions to try and make this honoring event run as smoothly and memorable as possible. On a purely positive note, we did achieve our goal again this year of covering all headstone and niche columns with a wreath. That makes 17 years of full coverage out of 18. This is a direct result of our communities’ patriotism and generosity.
Respectfully,
Russ Seltenright
