Celebrate spring with some beautiful pastel colored alfajor cookies. House of the Peruvian Cookie has these special colors this Saturday. They are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. They also are working on a special version of their cookie that contains the traditional caramel filling and blueberry jam. Of course, they sourced the blueberries for this jam from Gutierrez Farms at our market. Stop and try a sample this Saturday from 8:30 until 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Old Town Newhall library.

Farmers markets are open rain or shine! We know our customers depend on us weekly to shop for fresh food. Our farmers have up to a 3-hour drive to get to our market. They depend on you coming out and shopping every week. Forecasts for our market tomorrow say the heavy rain is going to come down in the evening well after the market, which is good for us. So we expect to see everybody tomorrow at our market! We will be open from 8:30 until 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Old Town Newhall library. Behold the Peruvian alfajor cookie! Two delicate cornmeal cookies with a rich caramel dulce de leche filling in between. You haven't lived until you've tried one. House of the Peruvian Cookie brings them to our market every Wednesday. They have all sorts of variations including the ones pictured with a dollop of homemade strawberry jam in the center. Be sure to ask for a sample this Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Canyon Country Community Center.

New this Wednesday! House of the Peruvian Cookie is debuting their new pionono this Wednesday at the market. This is a very traditional dessert found in many countries consisting of a thin sheet of cake rolled around rich dulce de leche filling. Be sure to pick yourself up one at the market this Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Canyon Country Community Center.
