People are expected to be so happy and thankful during the , but that may be for someone . Showing and can go a long way for those who might be dealing with:

- Recent break-up or divorce
- Sickness or death of a loved one
- Negative holiday-related memories
- Unhealthy family dynamics
- Financial difficulties
- Feelings exclusion or isolation
- Being away from friends or loved ones
- Unrealistic expectations
- Unresolved childhood trauma
- Loss of a job or sense of security
- Pressure to socially conform or perform

Remember, some people are just trying to make it through to the New Year, and they are doing their best. It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with an internal battle in their head.

It’s the holidays and people may be struggling, please be gentle with them...and with yourself.
