Whooo’s thankful it’s Friday? Me! So many good things have happened but it’s also been emotionally exhausting and stressful too. Thankful for “shop therapy” and a perfect fall weather this weekend.

If you’ve been following along in stories then you know that my son is a goalie for high school soccer. They’ve been playing in a tournament this week. It ended tonight with our boys winning the championship in the Carlinville Kickoff Classic♥️⚽️💙!

How have you spent your Labor Day Weekend, having fun or working hard?

I wish I was just chilling like Mitzi but I have definitely taken advantage of the long weekend to catch up on things! House cleaning, SO much laundry, groceries, lots of lesson plans, bookwork, placing inventory orders, and preparing Mercantile Bags and Boxes for this week.

It’s going to feel good to relax tonight and head into this week feeling prepared and not like I’m treading water. Much needed reset♥️

Remember when I worked some magic at my momma's house? 🌟 We really used what she had (which of course already included Collected Goods)! Mixing textures, moving things around, and choosing the most meaningful pieces in each space totally transformed the home. Who knew a little restyling could make such a big difference? What do you guys think?

If you’ve been following along during this back-to-school week, I survived! Tonight I actually made it home before 8 pm so calling that a WIN. I did bring lots of paperwork home but taking a breather for sure.

The shop will be open for shopping, browsing, chatting, or just stamping your Carlinville passport Saturday 10-3. I am so excited to show you the freshest finds. They are GOOD! This half slab table went out the door tonight but this amazing live edge coffee table is available. Don’t wait to snag it. It’s gorgeous!😍

Amazing things to show you for our next LIVE, but in all honesty I don’t think I can make it happen tonight. 😢. I’ve had late nights at school all week and need to get things “settled” before I can enter shop mode.

I promise I will get back to my regular Collected posts soon, but as a business owner who is also a full-time special education teacher, a few posts during this crazy back to school time have to be dedicated to that🍎

About 2 weeks ago I got the call that I would be moving to a new position teaching our Transition to Life program located at Blackburn. I will also be teaching my usual instructional math classes back at CHS. While I am SUPER excited to see all of the students in both worlds, it’s also got me feeling a bit overwhelmed. You know… chasing down classroom keys, setting up 2 classrooms, tech issues…oh the tech issues🤦🏼‍♀️…meeting new faces, finding people to answer LOTS of questions, and not ever feeling like things are prepared enough to match the ideas in your head.

But here we are…year 24! Taking deep breaths, dreaming big dreams for both groups of students, and knowing we will get there one step at a time. Just keep going! I cannot wait to see some familiar smiles tomorrow and meet all of the new ones too. 😃
