First harvest of the season, plucked from 13 bushes that surround the perimeter of our property! These freshly picked from our garden are beautifully arranged in a crystal ice bucket given to me from my Aunt! We love using family as vases for floral arrangements! In the second half of the 1800s, large department stores arrived in the United States, and with them came the “display window”. People lined up outside of stores like Lord & Taylor and Macy’s in New York City and elsewhere to gawk at the mannequins wearing fashionable outfits in lifelike room settings. That’s where the term “window shopping” originated!

While displays like that, as well as the typical department store, are on the wane, at The Carlisle Antique Mall they are keeping the tradition alive, and have asked us to decorate an entire display window as part of their first-ever & event!
