Looking to boost your reading confidence, improve your skills, or simply relax with a furry friend? Join us for Paws to Read at Kent Public Library, featuring Sunny Boy from Therapy Dogs International! 🐕💛
Children and readers of all ages can spend 15 minutes reading aloud to Sunny Boy, a gentle therapy dog who loves to listen. It’s the perfect way to practice reading and enjoy some calming time with a lovable dog!
📅 Registration is Required:
To ensure everyone has a chance to read to Sunny Boy, participants can register for one 15-minute time slot per hour. Be sure to sign up early—slots fill quickly!

📚✨ What an AMAZING time we had at this year’s Battle of the Books! The Mid-Hudson Battle of the Books annual competition took place this past Saturday at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Our library’s middle school team, the Kent Intelligent Reader's Society, performed exceptionally well! Coach Miss Irena is incredibly proud of their outstanding teamwork and positive attitude throughout the event! 💪🙌
It was incredible to see the enthusiasm and love for reading in every round. A huge thank you to all the participants, parents, and volunteers who made it such a success. 🎉 We can’t wait to do it again next year!

Calling all teens in Grades 5-12! Registration is now open for our exciting Holiday Events at Kent Public Library. Volunteering with us is a fun and safe way to earn community service hours while spreading cheer.
You'll help with everything from set-up and arts & crafts to snack distribution, assisting with shows, playing holiday characters, and more! 🎃🎅🎨🍪
Arrive at 5:00 PM for instructions and earn double service hours. Registration is required—spots are limited, so sign up soon! Volunteers will be placed on a waitlist and moved to the main list at the library’s discretion.

Our Pumpkin Glow & Show is back for it's 8th year. We love celebrating Halloween at the Kent Public library and we can't wait to celebrate it with you. Dance & Sing along with Miss Chris, Miss Marlana and their Halloween Friends. Trick or treat around the library! Make a craft, get a tattoo and enjoy some cider and donuts.
