First Heart Scan for me! Costs $49 and gives valuable info! Don’t know results yet but recommended by my cardiologist friends! Stay on top of your health and try and live a long, healthy, happy life! Things aren’t always in our control but the things that are I try to optimize most of them (I still can’t refuse 🍟 French Fries though! 😂

Top Doc in Nation! Whaaaa??!!! 🥇 So I must have paid off enough people to vote. 🤣 If you see my pic in an airline magazine please draw a mustache on it! As always, it takes a team and so honored that so many people trust me with their faces over 15 years!
Every year our ENT—Head & Neck Surgery residents take a test the first Saturday of March to gauge their knowledge, and every year we invite them over for some “decompression” time! Super fun as always!! And I get to teach them all the field of facial plastic surgery as their residency director! 👂 👃
Surgery all day…mentally exhausted…and greeted by a duck!! Love this tradition!!
Honored and proud to be course chair of COSM alongside in Chicago, May 15-16! See you there!
Team Effort!! Honored to be Top Doc for another year in Indianapolis Monthly! Let’s be real though, the Best Restaurant issue is WAY more fun! 🤩 🍱
Do or teach? WHY NOT BOTH! And add in some Holiday music 🎄 makes the perfect learning environment for the OR! In this pic I’m teaching our resident and fellow (advanced trainee) how to do a rhinoplasty (nosejob). 👃 As a surgeon at a teaching hospital/health system I am in charge of teaching and directing our advanced fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and our residency in ENT—Head & Neck Surgery. Many of the 50+ surgeons I have taught now practice in Indiana. I also teach plastic surgeons and Oromaxillofacial Surgeons while operating. Yes—it’s a super cool job! I love it! …and if you’re wondering…I personally do all the surgeries even though I am teaching! Teaching makes me a better surgeon and a better doctor because it makes me stay on the cutting edge! 🔪. ❤️
Shipchandler Facial Plastics team had a great time at the annual meeting in Vegas! Great to catch up with colleagues and learn about the latest advancements in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery to take home to serve our patients! Dr. Shipchandler presented and moderated on 2 panels involving rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction! Seeing all of our dear colleagues, mentors, friends and all of our former fellows all in one spot was so heartwarming!
I’m very humbled that after 14 years in practice to serve as the primary referral surgeon for Facial Weakness/Paralysis and Facial Reconstruction in Indiana and the surrounding area. Over the years I’ve taken care of so many faces trying to achieve improved form and function for patients while improving our techniques. I was invited by Vanderbilt U Medical Center this weekend to join an amazing group of national leaders specializing in treatment of facial weakness/paralysis and facial reconstruction to give my input and comments. Made some new great friends ( and ) and hugged my longterm friends as well. I also learned some great new techniques to take back and offer my patients about eyelids and lip issues and some finer nasal recon points. All in all, there is always more to learn because there is always more being developed and thought up by this great group of people together and apart. Very humbling and enlightening experience. ❤️
