Ugly Never Looked So Good!!! Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream® was established in May of 2003 in Carmel, Indiana. As the name states, burgers are our specialty.
We had been thinking of a concept for a family restaurant with an emphasis on quality food and a fun atmosphere for several years. When we found the right location along the Monon Trail, we knew it was meant to be! With a lot of family guidance and moral support, Bub’s® was born!
“Bub” is a family nickname for Matt and his brother-in-law Chuck who was a guiding factor in the motivation for us to

14 years ago, Bub’s was on Man vs. Food! We challenged Adam Richman to eat 4 of our Big Ugly burgers, he managed to eat 2 1/4 within an hour before he became too full. His picture resides on the Champions of the Big Ugly wall in Carmel!
