Carpentersville is showing its appreciation for our local veterans by displaying patriotic banners on Main Street this November. This initiative honors both residents and Village employees who have served our country. If you or someone you know is a veteran, don’t miss the chance to be recognized with a banner, free of charge. Reach out to Tania Gomez ([email protected]) by September 13th to be part of this meaningful tribute. 🇺🇸

Today is National Senior Citizens Day! Here in Illinois, we’re putting the needs of older adults first by investing in senior care, lowering the costs of prescription drugs, and providing property tax relief for World War II servicemembers, our wounded veterans, and their families. 💛

More than 400 Navajo people served as “code talkers” during World War II, using their native language to send secret messages on behalf of Allied forces. Since 1982, the federal government has set aside a day to recognize the Navajo code talkers, whose messages were never deciphered by opposing forces. Today we salute their contributions, along with the sacrifices of all Native American servicemembers.
Happy National Left Hander's Day!
