Central High School Baseball

We had an absolute blast at our 2024 Alumni Game last night. Thank you to our alumni who came out and made this such a successful event. The maroon team walked it off in the bottom of the 7th to win it 13-12. Thanks to Don Riggins and Andrew Ginther for helping organize this event and a special thanks to all the friends and family members who showed up to support the alumni.

Tomorrow is our alumni game! Please come out and support both the maroon and gray teams. Details below!

Great 1st day of kids camp!

Our baseball camp begins tomorrow at 9 AM.

We will start checking people in at 8:30 AM at the top of our stadium towards the back gate entrance on Sue Alice Lane.

Day 1 primary emphasis will be on Defense, Pitching and Baserunning (make sure to have a glove, cleats/turfs or tennis shoes)

Day 2 emphasis will be entirely offensive (make sure to have your bat, helmet and glove)

You can pick up and drop off campers right through the gate entrance of Sue Alice Lane. We will have coaches at the top. You can turn around in the parking lot next to our tennis courts and exit back through the gate on Sue Alice Lane. If you would like to stay and watch please park in our new gravel parking lot next to the gate entrance.

We cannot wait to see everyone!

Central Baseball is happy to announce an upcoming recruiting seminar with Head Baseball Coach, Justin Scali, of Piedmont University. The seminar will be Tuesday, September 10th in the Walker Gym at Central High School at 6 PM. Please use the QR code below to let us know if you will be able to attend and how many are coming with you. This event is open to all Central Cluster (Elementary, Middle and High) baseball parents and players who are interested. If you have any questions for Coach Scali please list them on the form with the QR code so he is able to give thoughtful feedback on any questions regarding the recruitment of baseball players at the NCAA level (D1, D2, D3). We want to wish a very happy birthday to Coach Mack McKinley. Coach Mack dedicates a ton of his time to Central and our student athletes in our baseball and softball programs. He is an excellent mentor to the kids at Central High School. Happy Birthday Coach!

We are excited to be hosting our annual summer baseball camp on June 19th and 20th. Lions will travel to Holy Innocents High School this upcoming Thursday for the GHSA State Baseball Playoffs.

*Holy Innocents does not have lights so the games will start earlier in the day.

Game times are as followed:

Thursday (Doubleheader)- 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM

Friday (Game 3, if needed) - 4:00 PM

Congratulations to the class of 2024. Lions sweep Southeast Whitfield on Senior Night. The Lions clinch a spot in the GHSA Playoffs which will start next Thursday and Friday.

Congratulations to senior, Tyler Woodside, on committing to further his academic and athletic career at Shorter University.

Today we got an opportunity to go support Kayde at the League of Stars. We had a great time! Kayde spends a lot of time with our Central Baseball family!

Congratulations to 2024 Infielder Brandon Musick on his commitment to ABAC. We are very proud of Brandon furthering his academic and baseball career. Brandon has been a 4 year letterman for the Lions and joins fellow Lion graduate Joe Cooney at ABAC.

Reminder:

Tomorrow is Rec and Travel Organization Night at the Central Baseball Field. Come watch our Lions take on Northwest Whitfield in a tough region matchup. Gametime is 5:30 PM.

*Rec and Travel Organization players who wear their jerseys will get in free of charge.

The boys got to have a little fun for Easter last night after a huge region series win over #1 Heritage. Thanks to the parents for setting this up after a big time performance from our kids.
