BD-135 Open Air Bird Repellent

Bird Barrier America BD-135 is an open-air bird repellent that emits Methyl Anthranilate (MA), a plant-based chemical (grape seed) approved by the US FDA and Agriculture (GRAS). So it’s safe for people & pets.

It repels birds from trees, shelving units, gutters, and settings where traditional bird control products can’t be installed. It helps prevent birds getting into hard-to-protect spaces.

The product consists of small fabric bags that can be hung from above, placed on a flat surface, or used inside a dispenser. Each bag can protect up to an 8 foot sphere, or 4 feet from the bag in all directions (about 270 cubic feet).

It will repel birds for about three months, depending on weather conditions and temperature. When placed inside an off-the-shelf PVC housing unit, it becomes more weather resistant, lasting longer and can present more attractive in public settings.

This form of bird control makes for a great way to grow your recurring revenue bird jobs with residential, commercial, and agricultural customers.

Bird Barrier America President Cameron Riddell while creating the first bird control manual found his partner Joe Bollinger, a UCLA psychology major, tyring to categorizing bird behavior on buildings. He ended up coining the phrase “bird pressure.”

Heavy pressure was a nesting site. Medium pressure was not a nest, but the birds were committed to being there for food and water. Light pressure was a take-it-or-leave-it site.

The pressure concept helped those in the industry understand bird problems from the birds’ standpoint - why were they there?

Bird Barrier incorporated this into their training 30 years ago and it caught on. Today, the term is commonly used in all forms of pest control.
