If any of our dogs deserved a home it sure was Pink. We rescued Pink from a shelter 8 months ago where her owner unceremoniously left her as she was VERY pregnant; she gave birth to a large litter just a short time after arriving. She was a good, caring mother and after her babies were weaned and adopted it was her turn. But it was not. Pink got passed over many times then developed a nasty, stubborn case of giardia and had to be separated. So she continued to wait. After a long spell and many meds and supplements Pink was clear of parasites and now she is FINALLY adopted. Her new name is Gabby Olivia—her initials (GO) are perfect for her because she has endless energy. Her new Mom, Ana, reports that Gabby loves long walks, enjoys chasing dogs at the park, loves new adventures but also likes napping and playing with her toys while Mom works. Overall she’s a good girl who craves hugs and Ana is very happen to be her person ❤️

We don’t want to make you all sad but we gotta tell it like it is, report them as they arrive. 😔. Cupcake (solid red harness) and her sister, Dutchess, lost their owner and a friend and neighbor did his very best to care for them but could not. Poor elderly man was overwhelmed both with his friend’s passing and at the same time trying to care for her two 11 year old girls. Another neighbor was kind enough to contact us and bring them to our facility. They are beyond sweet and beautiful and definitely take care of each other so will only go together. Perhaps a lot to ask but we know someone out there will fall in love with these golden ladies ❤️. We are quite certain they will need dentals but we shall see; other than that they seem ok and quite happy to lounge around together. More details to come….

You’ve come a long way, Koukla. Found as a stray with just about the worst case of mange we have ever seen, it took over a month for us to help her heal. Melissa and Eri fell for Koukla and promptly added her to their grumble and renamed her ‘Wednesday’. She continues to heal with weekly baths and is also enjoying following around and cuddling her big brothers. Wednesday enjoys trips to the dog park and also shopping; we did not know she was such a fashionista! She is also a shoe thief and master negotiator trading them back for treats. Whoever neglected her sure didn’t break her spirit and we are beyond thrilled to see her so happy as part of this wonderful, happy family ❤️

It’s time to play! These 3 babies are still looking for a home. Their Mom, a pug, was a former stray - can you guess what these cuties are mixed with? Closest guess wins a T-Shirt of their choice!!!!!! Please post your guess as a comment and make sure it adds up to 100%. Here is a sample guess: Pug 60%, Rottweiler 20%, German Shepherd 20%. Deadline to guess is Monday at 5pm and then we will reveal their DNA and contact the winner. Have fun! If you guess please share post so we can find homes for these 3. Interested parties can apply through our website pugnationla.org.

Bazooka was found on the streets and then impounded; we were happy to rescue the unique little man. We had to help him through a bad eye ulcer and neuter and we evaluated some minor neuro deficiencies which only make him more endearing. After Zachary was approved to adopt he chose Bazooka from afar and when he was ready to go, Zachary flew down to get him. Since he’s been home he’s been doing great and adapted to his new life quickly. Everyone loves Bazooka and he’s proven to be a great mix of excitement and calm. He gets along well with Petunia the Pittie mix, following her around and cuddling up to her. Bazooka enjoys outings around the city and obviously loves his new Dad ❤️

Shug’s Momma had a job change and could no longer give her the attention she needed or deserved so Shug is with us now. She’s about 3 years old and is basically a perfect pug—chunky ✅. Friendly ✅. Loves other pugs ✅. Cuddly ✅. A good set of pug teefs ✅ What’s not to love? Read more and apply here https://www.pugnationla.org/adoptable-pugs/shug/

Chantilly, now ‘Luna’ was a stray impounded at a shelter out in the desert. Shocking that not only her owners didn’t track her down there but also that no one out there wanted this stunning girl. After healing from kennel cough, then a spay and a dental and some eye treatments, she was as good as new and went to her new home. All reports are positive as she’s been a ‘dream’; Luna adjusted quickly and she loves to follow her new parents around and is a frequent visitor to the dog park. She’s playful and cuddly and overall is thrilling her Mom and Dad with her positive energy and loving nature ❤️

We are thinking of changing our name to Pug Naughties of Los Angeles as yet another spicy pug has arrived. The story should sound familiar by now; a pug arrives at a shelter (in this case as a stray); he or she is aggressive (actually just scared), not ‘adoptable’ so therefore in danger 😔. No one wants these poor babies but we take a lot of pleasure in stepping in, bringing them to the facility and letting them know they are safe and loved. This handsome man, Cabbage, is just 2 years old and yes he tried to bite at the shelter and yes he tried to bite here but he’s DEFINITELY not a bad boy he just needs time to decompress. He is good with other dogs and generally fine with people you just have to go slow, learn his triggers until he feels safe enough to be himself. Looking for an adopter without children who has patience and understands how rewarding it is to earn the love of a pug who probably never got much so doesn’t know how to give it just yet ❤️. We DO adopt out of state as long as you can pick up your baby and either drive home or fly him in the cabin with you.

A few years ago Daryan and Justin adopted Ahi from us; when they saw Morsel (now ‘Rey’) on social media they just had to add her to their family! The tiny girl was found on the streets and ended up in a nearby shelter; thankfully they called us. Rey has been doing well in her new home and has been described as a ‘firecracker’ who picks on her big sister 🤣; she is well loved and will never want for anything ever again ❤️

Rigby, now ‘Wynston’ was running the streets alone out in the desert—NOT a good place for a pug! He was impounded and a volunteer went out to get him and brought him to us 🙏🏻. Wynston was in decent shape but was in need of a neuter and dental so we took care of that. Natalie and Ian are very happy to have Wynston in their lives; he adjusted well and gets along great with his doggie siblings. He’s a big cuddler and couch potato but does also enjoy running around with the other doggies and is definitely now living his best life ❤️

Paso, about 4 years old, is coming up on his year anniversary with us but not something we want to celebrate. He is way overdue for a home. He was originally an impounded stray who was very reactive to strangers. He also has idiopathic seizures which fortunately are under control with medication. Paso is so sweet and special and we are hoping there is someone out there that recognizes that with some patience and understanding he would be a wonderful companion. Paso loves his meals and treats and also enjoys hanging out with other dogs. In our crazy atmosphere he definitely has stranger danger and his first defense is to nip at people but with those he knows he’s a complete sweetheart. That is the key—someone has to respect his boundaries while getting to know him. Of course adopting another dog would be an easier path but nothing is more rewarding than giving the more difficult dogs a chance to live a great life as well. After all, they have usually had it rough and deserve love just as much if not more. If you want to meet Paso let us know [email protected].

Duke and his litter mates were born a few days before they arrived at the Pubble; their previous owner could not handle them all so she surrendered the Mom and entire litter to us. So Duke and his siblings grew up a bit with us before they were ready to go to homes. New parents Peggy and human Duke were drawn to doggy Duke, whose name has since been changed to Bro-D for simplicity’s sake. His transition has gone well and he’s been pretty easy as far as sleeping through the night and house training. He is having a great time playing fetch and barking at everything that moves; training will commence soon! If you love the fluffy pug mix look we just so happen to have 2 new pups that look just like Bro-D! Contact us if you are interested and we will forward details 😊

This little cutie is named Lizzy and she was born at the Pubble! Her Momma was a stray who gave birth shortly after arriving; Lizzy and hwr 3 siblings are still awaiting homes. They are 59% pug and then a whole lot of other small dog breeds mixed in. If you are in the market for a puppy let us know [email protected]. Lizzy or one of her siblings will be a great addition to any family 😊

It’s shocking but true; this beautiful girl, Joni, was found running the streets and ended up unwanted in a shelter. She was in decent shape so we were able to quickly get her spayed and ready to go to a home. Gina and her partner were more than happy to adopt Joni and renamed her ‘Edith’; even her new older pug brother, Reggie, was happy to welcome her and show her the ropes. Edith is warm and cuddly and smart and Gina’s relatives are suddenly visiting more to get that extra pug love 😉. Who knew this former stray would be such a wonder family ambassador; she’s a star and well loved 🥰 !

Woobie was roaming around aimlessly before being impounded and we rushed to rescue her. She was in rough shape - already missing an eye, no vision in the remaining eye, a hernia, not spayed and our vet thinks someone clipped her ears as a baby—just unimaginable why someone would do that but they did. You would think Woobie would put her head down and sulk but heck no! This little girl, estimated at about 4, is ready to party! She’s sassy in the best way, gets along with other dogs and loves affection. She’s a tiny bit shy at first but warms up quickly so Woobie would probably do best in a quieter home and a mellow doggie friend. Bolt, now ‘Ghost’, was a tiny baby abandoned on the streets and he ended up at a shelter. We were grateful the shelter staff called us so we could rescue the little guy. Kristi and Jack were just as happy when they discovered they could adopt him! Ghost has adjusted well and is brave and curious; he’s smart and spunky and his new parents adore him. Ghost is a bit much sometimes for his big brother, Otho, but for the most part they work it out. When Ghost was a baby he sure looked like a pug and then out of nowhere those EARS sprouted; turns out he’s about 50/50 Frenchie/Pug! A perfect mix ❤️

Lugg and all of his buddies, along with our staff, wanted to send out our heartfelt THANKS to all of you who have sent to us badly needed beds, harnesses and countless other supplies. We are always thankful for the endless generosity of our pug community. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. You all always amaze us! Lugg is a former stray that is about 11-1/2 years old and is still looking for his home. Adopt a senior!!!! Read more and apply here https://www.pugnationla.org/adoptable-pugs/lugg/

Tapatio, now ‘Owen’, was surrendered as his former owner could not care for him. After a quick neuter he was ready to go and Luz and her family were more than happy to adopt him and since he’s arrived he’s been a perfect addition to the family. He’s smart enough to nap while his human brothers are gone so he’s ready for action when they get home. The three play together and then the boys take turns sleeping with their new friend. They are all inseparable and obviously having a great time ❤️

Mr. Teeth, along with 5 pug siblings, ended up at a local shelter after their owner was evicted. All were adopted except for our newest old man 😔. But he’s safe now and presently at the vet and will make his way to the Pubble on Saturday. Huge thanks to volunteer Caryn for springing into action today and helping us rescue Mr. Teeth. We love him already! He’s estimated at 11 years old but we will know more about him next week. ❤️

We only knew little Lyle for 3 days but of course we loved him from the moment we met him. He was surrendered to us because of his eye but he also arrived with a nasty respiratory infection. We did a PCR test, got results quickly and were able to start meds right away. Unfortunately Lyle’s tiny body couldn’t fight it off and he passed away quietly. Heartbreaking to say the least but we wanted to honor him. He mattered. They all matter. We wish people would do better but all we can try to do is pick up the pieces. He had moments that he had great puppy energy, we really thought he would be ok. R.I.P., little angel man. Fly high over that rainbow 🌈

08/20/2024

We have so many puppies right now we can hold our own Puppy Bowl! Pepino and 3 siblings were born about 8 weeks ago to a stray Momma. A family rescued her when pregnant and got her through the birth and then no longer could care for them so the 5 of them were surrendered to us. We have 2 fluffy boys like Pepino and a short haired female who we will post at a later date. If you or anyone you know is looking for a perfect little mixed pug pup let us know!

Bill and his brother Ted (also adopted) were found on the street at only 10 weeks old 😔. We were so glad to be able to take them in and make sure they were ok. Brea was happy to adopt Bill, who now goes by ‘Ollie’ and with a quick adoption kiss he’s obviously thrilled as well! Ollie is your typical happy puppy who greets each day with enthusiasm and enjoys frequent hikes and beach visits. Ollie is a bit of a social butterfly as he loves meeting f new dogs and people alike but saves the best of his love for his new Mom ❤️

Hero, now ‘Cheddar’, was found roaming the street and no one came to claim him. He was in decent shape and as is the norm these days, he needed a neuter and then was ready to go. Since Christine and Steven took him home it’s hard to know if they are more obsessed with Cheddar or he with them 😂. He sure is living the life as he spends his time laying around on his parents, playing with toys, napping on the couch, sunning himself, exploring the orchard, getting coconut oil massages and, of course, chowing down on good food. As he continues to come out is his shell and trust Mom and Dad even more, the couple is absolutely thrilled and love him more every day ❤️

Dollar was cruising along happy in his home until disaster struck—-a small child fell on top of him and he bit the child. His world changed immediately, he ended up at a shelter under quarantine. We were asked to take him and didn’t hesitate; he’s only 6 years old and we feel it was an instant reaction he regretted immediately. We have to be cautious with him, of course, and he must go to a home with no children, but while in quarantine and since he’s arrived he’s shown no aggression at all. We will keep you posted on Dollar in hopes that someone falls for those beautiful brown eyes and gives him a second chance. ❤️

Poor little Kitt, now ‘Princess Peach’, was found and impounded with a badly injured eye. Our vet had to remove it but fortunately Peach kept smiling through it all and was ready when Natalie came to adopt her. Since she went home, Peach has been very loving and full of energy and she and new brother, Bowser, are warming up to each other. Peach is loving life with lots of walks, toys and, of course, a ton of love from Mom ❤️

Benz has come such a long way; he was a stray on the streets in Mexico before being rescued and subsequently transferred to us so we could find him a home. Today marked his 100th day with us, so we think it’s high time he was adopted. He had a short stint with a foster so we know a lot more about him and it’s all good! Turns out Benz is quite the snuggler, is good on walks and open to new doggie friends. At about 3-1/2 years old he’s got a playful energy about him and would do great as a playmate for a younger dog. Benz would also love an active person or family as he enjoys long walks and can navigate stairs real well so a townhouse is no problem. We never claim our dogs are 100% potty trained but the foster reported that after a few initial accidents Benz did really well! He would make anyone a loyal, wonderful companion ❤️. Apply today through our website pugnationla.org.

Courtney, now "Truffles" didn't have the best start; she was confiscated at only 4 weeks old because someone was trying to sell her in a parking lot! We are grateful that the shelter staff contacted us so we could take care of her. The Leungs were more than happy to adopt Truffles and since she's been home she's done really well fitting in, even with the cat. She brings joy, energy, and sassiness to the house, loves to greet people, and is having the time of her life playing with friends at the dog park. Truffles has been easy to train, is well-loved, and is currently enjoying life's new direction.

Shane, an 8 year old male, looks very serious because so far life has just not been very fun. He was being neglected so someone took him in then brought him to us. So he feels unwanted but slowly he’s absorbing the good old PN love and starting to have hope. He was a little underweight when he arrived so is a little grabby with treats but getting better every day. He likes his fellow pug pals and, of course, people. He has good energy for being on the senior bubble and we know he will continue to come out of his shell once he feels even more secure. Shane just needs that chance to show how wonderful and loyal he can be! Read more and apply here https://www.pugnationla.org/adoptable-pugs/shane/
