United Nations Council of Indigenous Peoples (UNCIP) and all our Member Nations and Members worldwide stand with residential school survivors, their relations, past and future.
We call on all of Canada to acknowledge this tragedy and critically reflect on their relationship with Indigenous Peoples, to translate what we feel in our hearts into reconciliatory action. To work through diplomacy ensuring other potential sites are identified and properly acknowledged for all our relatives. June is National Indigenous History Month our history deserves acknowledgement.
For those in need of support, the national Indian Residential School Crisis Line is available 24-hours at 1-866-925-4419.
