Lake Allatoona Inn
Lake Allatoona Inn is a Victorian mansion. Available to groups or families with up to 6 bedrooms.
Lake Allatoona Inn is lakefront on Allatoona which is a popular recreational lake. The Inn is in a historical Victorian mansion and is also a farm and event venue. We are across the street from Allatoona Pass Park, a Civil War battlefield, and close to Red Top Mountain State Park and Lake Pointe Sports Complex.
Hope everyone had a great 4th. The Smith family, that was in town, celebrated on the lake of course. We spent the day swimming off of my son’s dock. Last evening we watched all of the fireworks displays across the street from the Inn. The public set off impressive firework for hours. My horses survived all of the fireworks going off as they do every year. They have gotten used to all of the noise and displays. Who knows maybe they enjoyed them. Happy birthday America the greatest, most diverse and freeist nation on Earth. I am proud to be an American.
Love this idea!
I am wishing you all a beautiful happy morning as I am so lucky to be a part of myself. Spring days are always so wonderful. This Spring I am really enjoying these new Roses I planted last Fall around my arbor. They are so cool. Technology and seasoned gardeners have really come forth with some amazing plants. These Roses are a good example. They start out Yellow then turn Orange and then become a beautiful pink color. Not only are they visually beautiful they also have an amazing scent. Enjoy the day.
Great family wedding today. The bride’s mom made all the food and she did the best job I have seen. She has a real talent. Weather was great Congratulations Miranda and Ben
Love Spring at the Inn. My lawn just got its first hair cut and my Rose bushes are starting to flower
Woke up to this beautiful sunrise over the lake this morning.
So here we go. 1/10 of an inch predicted. Pretty scary. Lol

This is the horror film “Everbliss Inn” filmed here. Have yet to find anywhere local to see it. I know it was shown at a few horror film festivals in other parts of the country. Would love to see it.

Over the last few days I have been thinking about the Inn. My home. It has been an amazing 17 years living here. As a bnb, I have met so many good people. I have enjoyed making their stays happy. As a wedding venue, Dave and I have shared so many familie’s joy. On the other side of the coin, taking care of this big ole house is a big responsibility. It is something that I mostly love but every once in awhile I hate. Dave and I both have put our blood, sweat and tears in to this place. Dave has definitely put more sweat in it than me. Some day I will have to hand the reins to someone else. The time is getting closer. Some one who I can trust just like the Butler family trusted us; Someone is out there right now destined to be the next trustee. They may not even know it. Some day they will.
Here are some random pics I took at dusk tonight. Have a good evening
Happy Thanksgiving every one
Since we turned into more of an Airbnb we have had a lot less guests. Always before I had to worry about noise and control my chicken addiction so guests could sleep. Not any more now that we have less guests. Lol Yesterday I brought home a new noise maker. Meet “Romeo” my new White Jersey Giant Rooster.
So excited. Today is the day of the reenactment of the Battle of Allatoona Pass. I have never seen a battle reenactment before and feel so privileged to get to see one today. This battle was a very bloody battle and many many lives were lost on both sides. All of these soldiers were fighting for survival and the cause they thought was right. Course it was much more personal for the people living in the war zones here in the South. I can’t even imagine.
Thought this was funny
Hello Sea Turtle! Love this capture by Philip Waller Photography.
Hi Inn fans. As some of you know Dave and I have been Lake lovers since the 1980s. First on Lanier and the last 30 on Allatoona. We normally stay on our end of the lake. Yesterday we thought we would go as far as we could North and check out where the Etowah River flows in to Allatoona. We took our old faithful jet skis and I must say it was a treat. Yesterday was a beautiful day. There was not a lot of boat traffic which was nice. I just want to say how peaceful and beautiful it was up there. Love our lake
Living near a big city like Atlanta means there is always something to do. Dave, my friend Stephanie and I went bike riding Friday night Downtown with a large Facebook group known as “Critical Mass”. What a cool bunch of people and some very interesting machines with wheels. I am guessing about 200 riders went the 16 or so miles which included some big hills. A little scary and a lot of fun. Here is some pics from the ride. Have a great day
Hello Inn fans. Dave and I wish you all a great Memorial Day weekend. Here in Georgia, this strange and wonderful weather has been perfect for the holiday. That is unless you plan on swimming. While we enjoy our time with our loved ones remember the ones whose sacrifices enable us to live in this great country. Seize your days.
Happy Mothers Day from one mother to another. Hope you mothers are seizing your day. I personally am by hanging out at our new dock that Dave built. We are enjoying my special recipe known as Lynn’s Pina Alotta
So this guy Mr Jones and his friend Mr Skinny seem to really enjoy Allatoona Lake
Everywhere you look Atlanta continues to grow. Are we the next big what I call Super City? Is this really a good thing? You tell me.
Please everyone read this and try to save the bees
This is a dead honey bee. The pollen on her legs is from dandelions. Her tongue is sticking out due to what killed her that was on the dandelions.
It’s spring, dandelions are the bees first food. This bee is dead from w**d killer spread on what we see as w**ds, but what nature sees as food. Please don’t spray for w**ds until you see the blackberries blooming. In this area, w**ds, flowers and fruit trees are bees only source of food until middle of June. There are FAR more w**ds than flowers or fruit trees, so it's their only food source. No bees, no food crops for us and we all starve.

Marietta GWTW Museum plans grand reopening on June 3 A grand reopening event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 3 at the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum at Historic Brumby Hall and Gardens, 472 Powder Springs St., Marietta.
Had a wedding today that was originally planned pre Covid. Took them over 2 years to get here but it finally happened. What a beautiful day for a wedding. Congratulations Melissa and Bryan
It was nice being on the other side of an event. We hosted our daughters baby shower yesterday. I thought our daughter Wendy did a great job with the decorations. It was Great to meet new friends and mingle with old friends. Next comes the excitement for two families to welcome a new tiny member very soon.
Soring time at the Inn. Love this ole tree probably 200 years or older. May have been a Native American Signal tree.

The story of Lake Allatooa Inn a Victorian Lake Front B&B and wedding facility.
Lake Allatoona Inn began in 2007 after Lynn and Dave Smith purchased the property. They converted it into a horse stable, BNB and wedding facility. The Inn is located lakefront on Allatoona which is a wonderful recreational lake bordered by Red Top Mountain State Park. The Victorian house on the property was originally built pre civil war and there is a lot of history surrounding it. It is located on a Civil War battlefield about 30 minutes North of Atlanta directly off of Interstate 75. It is also in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Come and enjoy the hospitality of the South.
